I just can't get over the fact that I haven't talked to Jamal all day! Something is up & I'm gonna find out what that something is!
*looks out the window*
*sees police & ambulance* OMG, I wonder what happened over there! I would stop & be nosey, but I have to get to school in time.
*parks car & gets out*
Ugh, I know I keep complaining & saying the same thing over & over, but I really don't wanna be here right now! Plus, I sure as hell don't feel like seeing Misty's face either!
*walks into school*
Naomi: *walks up to me* Hey boo!
Me: *smiles* Hey girl! What's the 411 for today?
Naomi: Girl that's what I'm trying to find out! Just give the school one more hour & you already know some drama is gonna start somewhere.
Me: You got that right!
*hears somebody running down the hall*
Misty: *looking panicked* Melanie Melanie Melanie!
Me: *gets angry* What do you want?! What part of leave me alone don't you understand?!
Misty: Melanie I really am sorry for what I've done, but I have to tell you something!
Me: Nothing you say will change my mind!
*Me & Naomi start to walk away*
Misty: *yells* JAMAL HAS BEEN IN A CAR ACCIDENT!
I swear my heart literally just dropped to the floor!
Me: *turns around* Stop making up lies Misty, you're taking this too far now!
Misty: Melanie I'm serious! Didn't you see all those polices & that ambulance on the way to school?!
OMG, now I remember exactly what she's talking about! This all explains why Jamal hasn't answered any of my calls!
Me: How do you know it's him?! What happened?! When did this happen?!
Misty: One of the boys off the basketball team saw his car. They say he was coming home from work, somebody cut him off & he ran into a ditch!
Am I really hearing this right now?! Every detail that she's giving me feels like a knife being stabbed into my chest over & over!
Me: *in tears* What?! Where is he?!
Misty: They say he's at Phillip's Medical Center in ICU.
Me: I have to go!
Naomi: Melanie wait!
*I run out of the school to my car*
