It was now Friday afternoon. My mom let me skip school after the nightmare, and I had another one last night, so I skipped school today also.

It was extremely lonely bundled up on my bed with my thoughts swirling in and out of my head.

I was really tired, but I kept my eyes open not wanting to have another nightmare.

Instead I looked out my window at the afternoon skies.

I couldn't see the sun since it was on the opposite side of my window but I saw the purple and pink hue shadow it was leaving behind.

Outside the trees were bare from the cold weather. There were only few leaves left scattered on the lawn tossing around each time the wind blew.

I sighed at the beautiful sight of nature. I could hear the small classical music my mom was playing downstairs. I lightly hummed to the tune.

The music fit perfectly with the scenery outside. Smooth and flowy.

My peaceful thoughts were disrupted when I heard my door creak.

I instantly assumed it was Persie or Mom so I sat up. Who came through the door though surprised me.

"Nate? Ebony?" I asked confused.

"Oh thank God!! I thought you had died or something!" Ebony exclaimed in relief.

Nate just gave me a breathtaking smile, which I smiled back to.

"Well hey there too." I reply rolling my eyes. "So what brings you to my humble abode?"

"Sorry, you missed two days of school and you didn't answer any of my calls or text, and you know me I thought the worst." She explained using little hand motions to emphasize her point.

I roll my eyes again, Ebony being the overly attached friend.

"Sorry I turned off my phone."

"I also stumbled into this little charmer on my way here. Apparently he was worried too."She said jabbing her thumb in Nate's direction, giving me a secretive wink.

This is the time I noticed Nate holding a huge bag in his hand. He scratched the back of his head sheepishly. His neck turned scarlet rising all the way up to his cheeks.

Awww the little charmers blushing.

"Ebony sweetie, your mom just called!" We all heard my mom holler from downstairs.

"Okay!" Ebony shouted back. "be right back." She said to me and Nate then right before she left she gave a wink.

What's with people and winking?

"So... What's in the bag?" I finally break the ice, but I really was curious what was in the bag.

He laughed nervously, not looking at me in the eye, and shuffling from foot to foot.

"I-I brought you some things because I thought you were sick." He explained clearing his throat a little at the end.

I rose my eyebrow at his nervous stance.

"Really? What'd you bring?"

He finally looked at me and I gave him a big smile, which seemed to ease his nerves a little.

He walked over to my desk and started pulling out things from the bag.

"Well I brought my Mom's famous chicken noodle soup just in case you were sick. I brought Ben and Jerry's Ice cream just in case you weren't in the mood for soup, and I also brought popcorn and some chick flick movies in case you wanted some company." He explained.

I had that free falling feel again in my stomach as though I was weightless. He brought all this stuff for me.

"Chick flicks?" I questioned his movie choice.

He chuckled lightly, which made my ears perk up at the natural flow of the sound.

"It's the notebook, and walk to remember. I thought you might actually like those types of movies." He said sheepishly.

Awww he would even watch a chick flick for me...

"I've actually never seen the Notebook..." I confessed.

"I haven't either." He said with a little laugh.

"And here I thought I found the perfect guy who watches chick flicks with me." I say sarcastically snapping my finger for emphasis.

"I would if it meant hanging out with you more." Nate said with a wink.

I know he meant it in a teasing manner but my stomach fluttered slightly.

Ebony chose that moment to burst into the room.

"Hey, sorry to leave so soon but I have a family emergencies at home." Ebony explained with a pained expression.

I gave her a worried look but she just gave me a fake smile and shook her head a little. She left shortly after that.

Ebony's parents have been going through a rough patch lately and Ebony has been worried on what gonna happen with her and her 10 year old little sister, Kaylie.

"So.... You don't seem sick but the ice cream and soup are still there for the offer, and if you need company we could watch a movie." Nate finally said bringing me out of my thoughts.

I've been day dreaming a lot.

"Yeah, I'd love to."

I wasn't in the mood for a chick flick movie so I got the next best choice.

"The Little Mermaid?" Nate asked with a raised eyebrow and a teasing smile. I simply roll my eyes.

"Yes, it's like the best movie ever." I state flatly. He just smiles at me.

"Whatever you say gummy bear." Nate replied.

"Gummy bear?" I question him.

"Yea I thought it was a cute nickname, and it fits you perfectly." Nate explained.

I pretty sure there was a huge smile stretched on my lips. The only nicknames I've ever had were Thena and occasionally my friends would call me by my middle name, Erin.

"I like it." I say with an approving nod. "Oh that reminds me!" I say snapping my fingers.

I went into my closet grabbing out my stache of gummy bears.

Instead of eating the green ones I ate the red ones since they were my second favorite.

Nate seemed to like the red ones too because he grabbed a couple throwing them up in the air and popping them in his mouth.

I clapped my hands like a little kid entertained by his little show.

I try throwing one of my gummy bears trying to move my head under wherever it is, but I knocked my head into Nate's and the gummy bear landed on my eye bouncing off.

Nate was rubbing the side of his head while I was rubbing my eye because it started to water slightly.

"Sorry." I say, I could feel my cheeks burning, probably turning into a deep crimson.

Nate just laughed and flicked the tip of my nose. Which made me scrunched my nose up.

"Aww you look adorable." Nate cooed, which made my already crimson cheeks to turn a deeper shade, and I could feel it spread to the tips of my ears.

We finally started watching the movie and I'm pretty sure Nate enjoyed it too.

When the movie was over, Nate looked at his watch, got up out of the chair in my room, and outstretched his hand to get me off of the bed, which I was laying belly down on.

"What?" I ask, taking his hand anyways getting off of my bed.

"Shame on you Gummy Bear, forgetting we have to babysit with Ryan already?"
