I hadn’t talked to either Josh nor Nate for the past couple of days. My mom hadn’t really talked that much to me and My Grammy was planning on stealing me away for partial summer so woopty-doo right?

I liked where my grandma lived since there was a lot of old friends there that I would love to talk to, but it was also uber far away from here.

I wanted to hang out with Ebony and Brit before the summer ended and I went off to Europe and they went off on their summer vacation with their families. I knew once summer was over even though I was having a gap year before college that didn’t mean that Ebony and Brit were.

Ebony got into the state of South Carolina and Brit is going into a local community college for cosmetology. Even though it was in the state it was a good 2 hours away.

I flipped over in my bed as I let all of this sink in. I knew right after we graduated that we weren’t all going to be extremely close as before, but I used to just ignored it. But as summer has about a month left I could feel the undeniable truth settle in, and I sure as heck didn’t like it.

I sighed and slapped my arm out for my phone to send a quick text to Brit and Ebony to see if they were available today. After sending the text I noticed I recieved a text about an hour ago.

It was from Nate and it was just a forward message about a party he was having. I slid my finger across my screen and deleted the message.

I got a message from both Brit and Ebony both almost simultaneously. They were both open for the day and wanted to hang out. I sent them a text that said to meet at the park that was a few blocks away.

I got up and quickly changed running a brush through my hair and brushed my teeth. As I was lacing up my shoes I heard our front door open and my dad’s head pop through hallway.

“Hey Kiddo, where you headed off to?” He asked sipping from the coffee cup he had in his hand. He also had a small bag in his other, most likely filled with muffins or bagels.

“I was planning on hanging with Brit and Ebony today, is that okay?” I asked lacing up my other shoe and picking my keys and phone off of the ground. I soundly tucked my phone in my back pocket and rung the keys around my finger.

“Yeah sure, have you heard from Persie? I haven’t seen her since yesterday morning.” He said also offering me the bag. I opened the bag and took a small blueberry muffin, handing him the rest back.

“I think she might be over Lisa’s house with Tina.” I said shrugging. He bobbed his head and gave me a wave as he walked past me to most likely offer my mom a muffin also.

It didn’t take long for me to get to the park where I saw both of my friends excitedly waving at me. Brit’s blonde hair seemed lighter than ever and her skin was perfectly tanned. Ebony however was tinted red all over. It wasn’t much of a surprise since she burned easier than gasoline.

“I missed you guys so much!” I said excitedly wrapping my arms around both of them and squeezing tightly. I’m pretty sure I heard Ebony wince but I didn’t care, I haven’t seen my friends for a good 3 weeks and I was accustomed to seeing them on a daily basis.

“We missed you too.” Brit said laughing and trying to pry me off of her and poor Ebony but I didn’t budge. “Okay Athena, we feel the love, but don’t smother us in it.”

“Sorry.” I said with a sheepish smile letting them go. Ebony let out a sigh and looked at her red arms that now had a white imprint of my arm that quickly turned red again.

“So how’s everyone? Nate? Persie?” Ebony asked. I forgot they had no clue about Persie being a new single mommy and Nate being cut out completely and Josh coming back.

“Well, Persie is single now…” I trailed off looking at the ground. They both gasped and looked at each other.

“AndJoshIsBackInTownAndNateIsHisBrother.” I blurbed out the rest. They both gave confused looks and looked at me with a questioning look.

“Josh is back and Nate is apparently his brother.” I said clearing the water. They gasped once again and had looks of shock. I rolled my eyes at their over dramatic gasps.

“Oh em gee, shut. up.” Brit said soaking in the new information I was throwing at her.

“Oh my gosh, this is so not okay.” Ebony agreed with Britt on the surprise of the situation.

“Eh, it’s not that bad. The only bad thing is that I don’t know if I might have a rekindled romance with Josh…” I trailed off the last part in embarrassment.

“What about Nate?” Brit asked looking me straight in the eyes with concern.

“What about him? We ended things a while ago.” I stated confidently, I had already replayed all of this in my head earlier, I shouldn’t feel guilty since we were already over. Deep inside I could still feel the nagging feeling though.

“Athena. Even I know that you’re not over Nate, and I’m the clueless blonde.” Brit said gesturing to herself to emphasize her point. I directed my gaze down and let out a sigh.

“Let’s not talk about this. How’s Dylan and Liam?” I asked directing the conversation on their love lives instead.

“Dylan’s been amazing he even remembered our anniversary and we spent the day at this ultra fancy restaurant.” Brit said and I felt my smile widen. I knew Brit and Dylan would last. Ebony was still giving me a sceptical look, knowing I was changing the subject.

“Liam has been Liam.” Was all she said. I dragged my eyes from her to the little kid on the swing set across from where we had ended up sitting. He was having a hard time climbing onto the high swing until a guy with familiar golden blonde hair came and helped him up.

“Is that Nate?” I whisper yelled ducking my head behind my hand and turning to look like I was talking to Brit.

“Oh my gosh it is.” Brit squealed. I slapped the back of her head and stole a glance to the swings where there indeed Nate was helping the little boy onto the swing and then pushing him on it.

“Aww, look at the little kid he’s playing with.” Brit gushed. I rolled my eyes at her incompetence.

“We should go before a whole lot of drama goes down.” Ebony said. I let out a sigh thankful someone came up with a reasonable response.

We all got up and slowly tried to sneak by, but then we realized our mistake since our cars were parked behind the swings, directly behind Nate might I add.

“Crud.” I whispered. We all huddled up and tried to cover our faces as well as we could but to no such luck.

“Athena?” That oh so familiar voice said.

I made this update a while ago and just realized that I didn't actually post it, it kinda sucks but I'm back in school and don't have time for writing. The only reason I saw this was because I'm sick today and could actually get on wattpad, I honestly really miss this, it's kinda like a throw back.

Anyways,

Until next time,

Toodles
