"Try this color," Dina said handing me the small tube of magenta paint, "It'll go better with the theme."
"Thanks!" I said, I had been looking for a good paint color to go with my painting. "So any new news about Chelsea?" I asked. Chelsea somehow became Dina's bestie sometime over a month ago.
"Nah, we haven't actually talked in a while." Dina said glumly. The two girls were literally joined at the hip, they would find everything and anything to fangirling about together.
"Really? That surprises me." I said truthfully while carefully gliding my brush against my canvas.
"Yeah, she's been hanging out with Ryan for the past couple of days." My eyebrows furrowed with this information. Chelsea might be Kathy's sister, but Kathy would never let her talk with her boyfriend. "So what about you? Any new information with Nate?"
I smiled widely when she said his name. We had just went on our tenth date last night. He made all of the dates fun and playful. Laser tag, Bowling, and even Chuckie Cheese, but last night was a dinner at a nice restraunt, it was our fourth month mark since we started dating.
Looking back at all the time that we spent together I could feel that I was slowly falling for him. He was always so caring and he would make the tiniest gestures that showed he actually knew me.
He also really liked taking pictures and took pictures of literally everything.
"We went on a date last night, it was the mark of our four months of dating." I told her while mixing the magenta paint with a little white I had on my palette. I swirled the lighter magenta with the purple hue I had on my canvas.
"Really? It seems like just yesterday you guys were still oblivious of each other." Dina said thoughtfully. Her eyebrows scrunched up as she focused on the bird she was painting with water colors.
"Haha yeah, that's what I was thinking yesterday." I said grabbing an unused napkins to blot the paint.
"What are you guys talking about?" Ty asked as he passed by me and reached for the #34 paintbrush he left behind earlier.
"Nate." Dina said without looking up from her painting. Ty froze on the spot and finally turned to me with his arms crossed.
"You're still dating him?" Ty asked with a wary look. I nodded my head and he sighed, "Athena, you do know what type of guy he is right? Do you not know the story of his dad and brother? He's bad news."
My mouth dropped and my eyebrows twitched. Did he really just go there.
"He isn't like his brother or father." I said stubbornly placing my brush on my canvas and stroking rougher than before. The lines I were making were edgy and ended sharply.
"Athena, you were completely oblivious of him when he was the lunatic of the school, he's not that great of a guy you peg him as. There was a rumor one year that he attempted suicide, and another saying how he planned to run away with his brother." Ty said seriously. I felt my nerve twitch and my hand slacked, causing the paint to run a huge streak across my painting.
"Ty, stop." I said slowly turning my head slightly away from him so I couldn't see the face he made which most likely read 'I'm-right-you're-not'.
"I'm only thinking of your well being here Athena, look your temper has gotten shorter ever since you started dating Nate, plus you started lashing out on people who say the simplest things." He said sincerely. I scowled and clenched my fist around the paint brush.
So I've been more on edge about what people say about me, isn't that a good thing that I'm sticking up for myself?
"Hey, let's not start this drama, we don't need this crud." Dina sais seriously, pushing my shoulder back slightly as I stepped up to him.
