"Boop." I swatted away Persie's hands as she kept repeatedly poking me.

"Not in the mood, Persie." I said turning my back to her in my swirly chair.

"Oh come on it's summer, don't you want to go hang out at the beach? Sister on sister time?" She asked hopefully.

"Don't you have a child to go watch?" I asked bitterly. I've been sour towards Persie after I found out she never told me about her and Noah breaking up and her having to watch Tina full time.

I know I'm being inconsiderate towards her since she's the one having to watch a child on her own, but at this point I didn't care.

I broke up with Nate, Tina's always crying at night, and Grandma's back in town to stay for the next month.

"Look Athena, I already said sorry about that. So you need to stop holding it against me." Persie said seriously.

"Oh come on, even Nate knew before me." I said Nate's name with venom dripping from my tone.

It didn't even take a week for me to get out of the 'Cry Baby' stage and go full throttle into the enraged stage.

"Fine. You know what? Be that way." Persie said then stormed out of my room. I rolled my eyes and flopped on my bed.

I grabbed my Journal and scrawled a few things down. Now most of my entries have been rants and hate letters. I'm actually starting to worry about myself.

I heard someone knock on the door but I ignored it. The door was unlocked so if they really wanted to come in then they can let themselves in.

"Sweetie?" My mom said opening the door gently. I simply turned my head towards her and waited for her to say something. "Grandma just finished making lunch."

"Great." I muttered under my breath. I slammed my Journal close and sat up. I was about to stand up to get my lunch but my mom was giving me the look. "What now?"

"I was wondering about our annual summer trip, I know Ebony and Brit weren't gonna come this year, but did you still want to go to italy?" My mom asked with a brow raised.

"Well I planed to go with Nate but guess plans have changed." I said angrily. He literally ruined everything.

"Sweetie? Can I be completely honest with you?" My mom asked, while walking towards me and squatting in from of me.

"Well you're probably going to anyways so shoot." I said laying back down to hear what my mom is about to say.

"Okay." She started off nicely, then her expression turned to complete annoyance. "Please just shut up about Nate. All you have been doing this whole time is complaining Nate this, Nate that. It's so tiring hearing You talk about him. Either move on, or make up. It's that simple, don't think this one bump in the road is going to ruin your life." My mom said in exasperation.

I sat up and narrowed my eyes at my mom. Did she really just complain about me?

"It's a new generation mom, unlike in your time it isn't that simple." I pointed out rudely.

"My time? I'm 43, not 60." She said wryly, "And it is that simple. You brought this on yourself, you committed to a relationship ,you chose doubt and distrust over reason, you couldn't be patient. If you chose to be in that relationship, you have to deal with it and support it otherwise you're the problem in the relationship. It's a two way thing."

"For a Mom you sure do suck at being comforting." I said sourly . She laughed sarcastically.

"Not comforting? We've all been comforting in the family. There's a different between trying to comfort you out of the problem and slapping you back to reality. Sorry for being the first one to tell you this, but life and love is hard!!"
