It was now Wednesday two days since we gave Nate a make over.
I haven't talked much with Nate since then, or Ryan but I wasn't complaining since I got to talk to some of my old friends.
Just yesterday I talked to Sally again. She has a guy named Kade following her around but she keeps rejecting the poor guy.
I also talked to Fern, she is still in a relationship with Drake and offered to set me up with one of his friends but I denied quickly.
The bell rang, bringing me out of my thoughts. I quickly got up heading towards my math class.
I stopped in the middle of the hallway when I saw a familiar face.
There stood Nate. And he looked angry. He was towering over another guy, looking one year younger than us.
The next thing I knew the Junior was clutching his nose quivering on the ground and Nate's knuckles splattered in blood.
Nate didn't stop there though, he kept punching the guy. I didn't know I was running over there until I finally got there.
"What are you doing?!?! Stop!" I say ripping Nate's fist back so he couldn't hit the kid again.
He looked up at me and blinked 3 times. He furrowed his eyebrows and he was breathing heavily. His eyes were blazing.
The Junior had scampered off somewhere. Nate seemed to notice that too. He let out an aggravated sigh.
"What in the world happened?!" I yelled at him.
"None of your business." He said bluntly, his eyes narrowing at me.
"You hurt a guy who was a year younger than you, he didn't stand a chance!" I screamed louder while poking his chest with every word to make it clear to him.
"He's the one who challenged me. He's the one who taunted me. He's the one who deserved it." Nate stated his voice icy cold.
I stared at him in bewilderment. From when I met him, he was never mean, he actually seemed kind of innocent.
I let out a breathe through my nose and turned around heading towards my next class.
I heard Nate sigh behind me and catch up to me.
"Look, I-I'm sorry I-I get out of control sometimes." Nates said stuttering slightly.
Hmmm... he stutters when he's nervous..
"Still, that gives you no right to pick on that poor Junior." I snap at him.
He winced slightly backing up a step.
"I know, and I'm sorry, it's just I have anger problems it sorta runs through the family," He said sheepishly scratching the back of his head.
I let out a sigh,"Will you at least promise not to do it again?"
"Well I'm not sure I can promise that.... but I can promise that I'll try." He bargained. I smiled and nodded my head.
I heard the late bell and sighed.
Ughhhh I'm gonna be late.
Nate seemed to have other thoughts though because he gave me mischievous smile.
"How would you like to accompany me on this fine day, to skip the rest of school?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
Skip school?!?!
Okay I'm not a goody-two-shoes, but I have never skipped school before. I've always wanted to but my friends would always wuss out, and I did not wanna go alone.
I thought it over for a while then a smile crept on my face.
"Let's do it!"

We are currently at the Starbucks in the mall.
"I'll have the Peppermint frappucino, but instead of chocolate make it caramel." I told the cashier.
"Name?" He asked.
"Athena," I reply.
"Like Greek Mythology?" He asked in amusement.
"Yea my mom is sorta a nut when it comes to Greek Mythology." I say shaking my head a bit.
He just smiles at me writing my name on the small plastic cup.
"Caramel machiato please." Nate says from behind me, giving a polite smile.
"Name?"
"Nate"
"How cliché" The guy mutters. I stifled my laughter while Nate looked slightly offended but then cracked a smile.
We went into a booth in the corner of the cafe waiting for our drinks.
"So why did you beat up that poor kid?" I ask curiously.
"Poor kid?" Nate spat, "More like he was asking for it." He muttered under his breathe.
I rose my eyebrows at this. He saw my expression and muttered a sheepish apology.
"He made fun of my family." He finally said quietly.
I furrowed my eyebrows at this.
"Who could he possibly make fun of? Your family seems sweet" I state confused.
"Oh... Er... He was talking about my brother..." Nate said hesitantly.
"You have a brother?" I ask, now beyond confused.
"Yea... he ran away a couple of years ago, he was a rebellious type" He said sheepishly.
"Oh," was my 'oh so intelligent' reply.
"Athena and Nate!" shouted one of the Starbucks employees.
Nate offered to grab mine for me. In that time I thought of what he told me.
Well he does have a good reason to beat up that kid now. He must be really close to his brother...
I wonder if he ever sees his brother from time to time or is in contact with him....
My thoughts were disrupted by Nate's smiling face and the aroma of caramel and coffee swirled together.
"Here you go M'Lady." Nate said bowing slightly and giving me a small wink.
I couldn't help but laugh with a small un-Lady like snort at the end.
I cover my nose while Nate starts laughing.
I quickly grab my Starbucks out of his hands and swiftly walk away.
He quickly catches up to me still lightly laughing. I've gotta say his laughter is rich and velvety and gave my ears a comfortable feeling.
I smiled lightly turning towards him to find him already looking at me. I finally broke eye contact feeling that weightless feeling you feel when you're going down a rollercoaster.
When I turned I ran into something, or more specifically someone.
"Hey Athena." I heard the evil voice snicker, and I'm pretty sure he was smirking.
