It was now my free period and I was trying to read a book, but my mind was clouded with the incident and I couldn't think straight.
I heard a screeching chair get pulled up next to me and saw Brooke.
"Hey Brooke," I say my enthusiasm not really that good. She give me a confused look.
"Are you okay? Your face is pale and theirs bags under your eyes. You look a wreck." Brooke concluded looking me over.
"Oh... ummm I was just thinking about what happened 2 years ago." I say silently letting out a small frustrated sigh afterwards.
Brooke knows about the incident, she was with me throughout the whole time comforting me with Nina and Sally.
They used to be my closest friends 2 years ago, but we all faded away keeping small contact once I changed how I was.
That incident really changed me. I didn't know if it was a good or bad thing.
Brooke quickly enveloped me in a hug. My arms layed limply at my sides not even trying to hug back.
She finally let me go asking if I was okay, which I responded with a small nod. We weren't friends like we used to anymore. She finally gave up trying to comfort me and left.
I tried reading again, but was yet again disrupted. I looked up to find Ebony giving me a disapproving look.
"Er... are you gonna keep looking at me like that or are you going to start ranting at me again?" I say not snapping but, more tired if anything.
Ebony gave an exasperated sigh, seeming mad at how I was acting.
"Athena, do not act this way. You are not going into a funk like last time. Toughen up buttercup because I am not allowing you to sulk away remembering the past." Ebony snapped, holding out her hand waiting for me to take it.
I smiled. Ebony is the type of person who gives you no sympathy, and slaps you awake. That's one of the things I like most about her.
I grabbed her hand and she dragged me out of the library and to the parking lot.
She stopped outside of a slightly familiar car.
"Nate? Ryan?" I ask, confused.
"Hey Athena," They both respond at the same time. They both turn to each other with furrowed eyebrows then shrug it off smiling at me.
Seeing them both do all of that at the same time kind of creeped me out, but I also found it kinda adorable.
They were both so different, while Nate had blonde hair and murky green eyes, Ryan had dark brown hair and sparkling blue eyes.
I awkwardly wave and gave Ebony a questioning look but she just smiles and shrugs.
I then see Liam, Brit, and Dylan coming over too.
When Brit sees me she starts running towards me flailing her arms around.
"GURRRL IT'S TIME FOR AN INTERVENTION!!!!!" She screams like a mad man and basically tackles me to the ground.
"Umm... Brit I love you and all, but please get off of me." I tell Brit trying to shove her off of me because the concrete road underneath me was digging into my back.
She quickly gets up extending her hand out for me to grab. I grab her hand pulling myself up dusting off my butt.
"What about an invention?"I ask stupidly.
"Not an invention, an inter-vention." Ebony explained. I think I saw Liam slowly inch closer to Ebony, but my mind could be going coo-coo.
"An intervention is when we help you with your problems." Brit explained bobbing her head as though proud she knew what she was talking about.
My face scrunched up and I shook my head frantically.
"Can we all just hang out and I can get my mind off of things?" I bargained.
Brit and Ebony gave each other strained looks, but nodded none the less. I smiled at that.
We all piled into our designated cars and headed to the small pizza place two streets down.
I was stuck in between Nate and Ryan with Ebony in front of me, Liam on her right and Brit on her left. Dylan was on the very left.
"So, what was the whole intervention for?" Nate asked curiously next to me.
"Hmmm... it was just some thing from a while ago and it was brought up when my Gran came yesterday." I say with a shrug.
"Oh... sorry about that by the way... I just left because I thought we were medling into your family time.." He said sheepishly.
I simply shrug again, not really bothered by that and wanting to change the subject of yesterday.
The waiter who was about nineteen came and took our order. He was actually pretty cute, he was wearing a red cap with the pizza place's logo over his dirty blonde hair with brown eyes.
I turned my head when I felt Ryan's chair scoot closer to me. I gave him a questioning look, but he just smiled at me.
I turn back to find Nate's eyes slightly narrowed towards Ryan. He then also scooched closer to me.
I felt kind of claustrophobic with two huge guys closing in on me.
I wiggled in my seat uncomfortably. Nate seemed to see my discomfort and scooted back out letting me have a little breathing room which I was thankful for.
Ryan however, was still extremely close making me feel a little weirded out, so I subtly scooted away.
He looked like he was about to scoot towards me again when the waiter came back with pizza.
This is gonna be a while.
