"Keep talking to me, what else?" Angie urged while she was trying to fix her makeup at the sun visor's mirror. A few minutes ago, they all were at the TV Station, reviewing for a thousandth time the Serial Killer's story. It already had been a week since the last murder and things were quickly getting old. Police hadn't offered new leads, so, besides offering interviews of the relatives and friends of the new victim, there was nothing much to talk about. It was all about John Roger's life recap: his childhood, how he had become a cop... blah blah blah. The city wasn't that big so most people practically knew all that stuff. They also offered theories, recounting the facts of the past homicides... but there was a limit of what they could talk about in the news if nothing new appeared. Leaving aside the clues that were left at the scenes, there was nothing else to work on! But, so far, the killer hadn't disappointed them. One killing each week? She wouldn't admit it out loud but it was very convenient. Angie thought that it was just about time when they received the call that a new body had been found.
They were now in the news van, her assistant was giving her the small pieces of data they had so far thanks to one of their informants. Everything counted and she would use everything she had at hand. The traffic was heavier than she expected but the camera man (also her driver in moments like this one) was good at the wheel and they made it to the Major's Office, City Hall in a very decent time. They got down from the Van in a very convenient moment too, just in time to see a young Cop putting some order at the scene. Their informant had told them that a Detective had already arrived, so why to put order until now? An even younger woman was also trying to help, with badge and everything... But she didn't look like a cop. The fact that detective Black had swung her away didn't go unnoticed by her, of course. Angie put her non graduated glasses on; she had an umbrella in one hand and a microphone at the other as she approached the crowd, her heels clicking the wet pavement. Her expression turned into a grimace as she spotted her two least favorite people in the city. Why those Gazette journalist had arrived before her? She would deal with that later, for now, she had work to do.
"Start rolling. First focus the scene behind and then me. I want you to capture that before they tap the scene. Tell me when you start broadcasting." She said to her cameraman as she fixed her hair. He did as it was told and once she had the light of the camera on her, she began to speak. "We are transmitting live from the Mayor's Office where a new body has been discovered. The circumstances of the finding are similar of the past murders, although the identity of the victim hasn't been confirmed yet. Thanks to the information of an anonymous source, we know that it had passed almost an hour since the discovery and yet the Forensics nor the rest of the police force has failed to arrive the scene. And, as you can see dear watchers the scene hasn't been properly isolated. Are these killings product of a master mind or are they just product of a negligent police work?" She let the question lingering in the air for a couple of seconds before continuing. "This and more details will be shared with you in the Evening News with Angie Babineaux. This is Angie Babineaux reporting for Channel 5 News, stay tuned."
