Lauren was taken aback by her Detective that had just appeared - Aaron was here, alone? That was odd? He never left without his partner, and for her it was unusual to say the least that he wasn't with Mason - then again she supposed it was due to the fact that Mason was giving Easter a ride down to the crime scene as she did not drive; from what she remembered that is. Lauren was aware that Easter decided not to drive simply due to how many deaths there were on the road each year; she recalled Easter telling Channing, John, Benjamin and herself at a family dinner once, enlightening everyone with her statistics and facts. John of course, always eager to hear more. The female had a wry smile as the thoughts paced through her mind, strands of her brunette hair flying in aimless directions as the harsh wind blew across her skin, her short thoughts interrupted as Aaron pulled out his badge holding it in his hand, telling her what she evidently already knew.

What? No thankyou at least?

That irritated the young woman slightly, as she did manage to get a lot of people to leave the crime scene so that it was easier for them to do their job. It's not as if she enjoyed yelling at people, telling them what to do, but this situation called for it as none of her respective team had arrived yet and she did what she had to do. However, Aaron was sweet, and the jab was simply a friendly reminder, or perhaps a slight tease and she was aware he didn't mean what he was saying in a rude manner, simply a notice, and yes, he was correct. This wasn't her jurisdiction, it was theirs and she had no reason to actively be involved in this current moment, as they'd tell her if she was needed any further.

The female nodded her head, her brown eyes meeting with her colleagues as she listened to what he was saying. Laura pursed her lips slightly before opening her mouth to return her response. "Aaron... I know. I'm well aware it's not my jurisdiction here, I just figured I had to do something in order to gain some control around here until you, Mason or Easter arrived. It also worked, as you can see people are leaving, and believe me it was much more crowded before you got here. People were going crazy." Laura smiled, watching as he placed his badge back into his pocket continuing her sentence "They are cool, and hey - you never know I could get one if I decide being a DDA isn't for me one day." letting out a small laugh attempting to lighten the current situation as Aaron didn't look too good. She wondered what was wrong and was about to ask him, however she didn't get the chance as before she knew it Aaron had requested from a couple of the deputies that had just arrived to show her off the crime scene, turning to his sister explaining to her the same thing, only mentioning Mason this time.

That was her cue.

She'd ask Aaron later; make sure everyone was okay. Her team's wellbeing was important, she needed to ensure that everyone stayed in check. Lauren dismissed the deputies, she didn't need to be escorted off the crime scene, she'd do it herself. Lauren proceeded to walk in the other direction, wondering what she'd do next, perhaps start some questioning of her own, and begin her job now, see what people knew about the new victim, if they even knew anything at all. As the female began to walk away, she stopped in her tracks, turning her head around calling out to Aaron "Detective Black - let me know if you, Detective Quinn or Easter need anything later, I'm going to begin questioning, see what people know about our new victim, or if they've seen anything out of the ordinary." turning back around continuing to walk away in the direction that she was heading in earlier, noticing that The Channel 5 station had arrived, which no doubt meant reporters.

Great.

Yet again, Laura's eyes scanned the perimeter of the Mayor's Office - the Deputies and other police officers were securing the area now, ensuring that civilians stayed outside the taped area. There were about 5 or 6 squad cars parked, which meant a lot of Officer's, Benjamin more than likely being one of them; although oddly enough she hadn't spotted her partner yet. The female continued to walk around, attempting to look for any suspicious behaviour or for anyone that looked out of place, or weren't meant to be here. She continued to walk, her heels clicking on the pavement of the ground as her hair flew each time the wind gusted. Perhaps she'd go talk to Oliver Reville; she knew he was a troubled young man and surely the death of his sister wouldn't of made things any easier for him - Lauren had spotted him before however it seemed that she had lost him in the crowds. The female let out a small sigh, her eyes scanning for Oliver. Ah. There he was, sitting on the curb talking to what appeared to be same woman from earlier this morning that had slapped Mason at the Precinct. She better head over there, just to make sure that he wasn't being harassed. Lauren began to walk towards Oliver but was stopped when a man appeared in front of her. That frightened her a bit as he seemed to have popped out of nowhere; her heart racing just a little from the small fright.

Getting herself together, Lauren listened as the man spoke asking very politely with that charming grin of his if she would be willing to ask some questions for The Gazette. Laura smiled at the man as he pulled out his notepad and pen. He probably wasn't aware that she was the DDA. She supposed it wouldn't hurt to help him out, it was only a few questions and she'd rather The Gazette over Channel 5 anyways, as they'd twist everything just for a story, like the one they did on John. "Sure - my name is Lauren Ava O'Rouke, District Deputy Attorney. I'll happily answer a few, if you're happy to do the same." she replied, adding a twist of her own.

"I didn't mean to frighten you." Alexander told the woman. He smiled apologetically, thinking that she must have had quite a lot on her mind to not have noticed his approach. He nodded when she answered his question.

He was a bit surprised at her request - what could he possibly tell her that would help out? Then again she might have though he'd seen something. He could have, actually, the way he went after a story. Of course, he tried not to offend people, but a story was a story. After deliberating, he nodded. "Lauren O'Rouke, DDA." He repeated as he jotted it down. "I would have no trouble answering questions, Miss - or Mrs? O'Rouke." He did't want to write her in as a Miss if she was married. Although, he hadn't noticed a wedding band.

Now, to get things moving. Alexander wrote a few notes down, nothing important, mostly stuff for himself. The time of day, location, etc. He found himself wishing he had an umbrella. "Would you mind stepping under the awning of that building, there?" He inclined to a cafe accross the street. "It's a bit difficult to write here in the rain." He'd managed to keep the notepad dry so far, but it was a bit difficult.

Without waiting for a response, Alexander led the way. He made sure to use the crosswalk, waiting for the correct time before crossing. Once there, he pulled out a chair on one of the bistro's for Lauren. Not waiting for her to take a seat, Alexander popped into the opposite chair. "Shall we begin, or would you like to order a coffee?" Alexander, for one, wanted some caffiene. Having risen lat, he wasn't able to get his morning cup. He motioned for a waitress through the window. "I'm going to have one."
