The blue and red coloured sirens blared as the man drove through Cedar City's streets, his radio going haywire about there being a new body found directly outside of the Mayor's Office.

Christ.

When would this lunatic stop killing people!? Hadn't they already made a big enough impact already? What more did they want? They'd successfully instilled fear across almost entirely all of Cedar City and everyone was already deeply impacted on the murders. What the fuck was wrong with this person; if you could even call them that. Benjamin doubted their humanity and whether or not this individual had the capacity to feel remorse - for the victims, their grieving families/just citizens overall. He wondered who the victim could've been this time, and judging by the killers MO, it was bound to have been someone of importance or significance to somebody in the city. The lunatic wanted to be known, and by the sounds of it they wanted something, or perhaps someone and clearly weren't going to stop until they got what the wanted, going through all type of extremes of insanity to achieve their goal. Sick fucker. The man shook his head slightly as these thoughts ran through his mind, focusing on the road as he sped through the traffic as quickly as possible to get to the crime scene that he was needed at.

His radio would not stop going off, jesus. Was it that bad? A voice chimed in over the receiver, asking for his dispatch "OFFICER STEPHENS, CODE 3, 187! CONFIRM YOUR LOCATION - THIS IS OFFICER REYNOLDS, WE NEED YOU AT THE MAYOR'S OFFICE IMMEDIATELY, WE MUST SECURE THE PERIMETER UNTIL DETECTIVES AND FORENSIC ANALYSTS ARRIVE. CITIZENS NEED TO BE HELD BACK FROM ENTERING THE AREA, WE NEED BACKUP ASAP! OUT." Concluded the static voice as Benjamin shifted one hand from the wheel, he picked up the radio, pushing the button whilst his foot pressed down onto the accelerator. Shit, I need to fucking get there or I'm going to get my ass grilled. He thought to himself, growing impatient with the traffic. Clearly idiots did not recognise that a Police Officer was in a hurry and needed be somewhere as most of the cars he had encountered almost collided with him, barely giving him way. The man heaved a sigh before replying to the dispatch "This is Officer Stephens, I'm downtown and should be there in 10 minutes! Emergency dispatch has been received. Over!" He replied, as static was let off from the radio yet again, he let go of the radio placing it back into the holder that it was in and moved his hand back onto the steering wheel; his foot once again pressing down onto the accelerator.

What the fuck was wrong with drivers today!? How did they not understand that blue, red flashing lights and a siren meant fucking EMERGENCY and that Officers got right of way! The dickheads were barely letting the man get through and Ben was seriously beginning to get pissed. The man tooted the horn, slamming his fist as it emitted out a huge HONK to ongoing drivers. About fucking time - after he tooted the horn, something seemed to have switched for the rest of the drivers on the road as he had zero issues merging through any lanes, the remainder of the drive to the Mayor's Office was surprisingly much quicker than he had anticipated given the lack of right of way he was getting before. Benjamin sighed, dodging through a set of red lights at an intersection - he was allowed to do this; he was a Cop. He just had to be swift, being cautious about other ongoing cars potentially coming his way. Before he went through the lights he checked quickly to ensure that he would not cause a collision, making sure there was an all clear for him to speed through without causing havoc himself.

Good to go.

His foot pushed down onto the accelerator once again as he passed downtown; roughly 5 minutes later arriving in the side streets outside the Mayor's Office.

Benjamin pressed on his brakes, putting the squad car at a halt and turned the engine off, the slow hum coming to a stop. Taking his seatbelt off, the man exited the car as fast as possible locking the doors behind him. His eyes darted back and forth, taking in his surroundings quickly - he noticed that there was a crowd that had formed and his fellow officers had already began to show up. Thankfully he wasn't too late - luckily by being a cop, one of the many perks was being able to speed through traffic lights without being booked for speeding, and of course right of way. This was specially handy when needed somewhere as soon as possible. The man shivered, as the wind blew through his uniform - god it was freezing. Ben marched over to where his officers were, as they attempted to hold back more and more citizens from entering the new crime scene. It was time to perform his job as an officer - this would be easy as he had plenty of experience doing crowd control as a security guard. Giving a soft grin to some of his colleagues he began to give them a hand; holding people back so that they wouldn't get in the way of the Detectives who surely were on their way. Taking a deep breath he yelled "GET BACK FROM THE SCENE!" attempting to restrain those trying to get into the crowd that was closer to the body.

Noticing a familiar voice he didn't even realise that Lauren was here. What the fuck... Then again, he should've known better - his girlfriend sure had balls pulling out a CCPD badge, although it did seem to help a little bit as slowly the crowd around the body began to leave. Watching Detective Black arrive, he couldn't make out what he was saying to Lauren, however it was probably something along the lines of her leaving too so that they could do their jobs. This meant that Easter and Mason were more than likely to be here in minutes. Ben would need to start taking statements as soon as everyone dispersed - only where the hell was his partner? He should've been here already.

God damn it.
