I felt cold water rushing around my arms. I looked around. I was in a whirlpool, and I couldn't breathe. The water pulled me down, down to a disgusting underwater cave. The water slowed down, so I could see a figure in bright red. A loud cackle echoed off the dark walls. "Hello, Crystal Waters," I gasped for air, instead choking on water. "Oh, how could I forget? Your lungs." The figure put a bubble around me. I gobbled up the newfound air. A light turned on and I could see a face. She was so beautiful. She had black hair, perfect skin, and she was wearing a long, red dress with matching gloves. She got closer to me and examined me like that frog I had to dissect in biology class.  "I certainly didn't expect that. You look nothing like that creature you call mother." "What?" I tried to say, but I felt like l had a sock in my mouth. "Now, let's get down to business." The woman said. "First, when I release you, you are to tell no one anything. Yes?" I rapidly nodded. "Second, give me the shell." I checked my pockets, my socks, my hair, even my neck where I was sure to find it. It was nowhere. I think the lady sensed that because then she mumbled. "I should have just done this to the wife." She cringed when she said that. As if debating with herself, she continued. "No, it's not in her blood. Alright. Be warned. This isn't the last time you'll see me." She snapped her fingers and I was back at the hospital. "That better have been a dream." I said as I rubbed my head. Because I had seen something that I didn't think I was supposed to see. Peeking out from under the lady's dress was a pure black mermaid tail.
