We finished up the food and got back on the bus. "We need to find Madi. If what you're saying is true," I said, making a gesture to Eric. "Then we need to know her side of the story." Addison looked around. "Found her! Come on." She muttered. Eric and I followed her to the very back of the bus, where Madi and "the Barbies" (remember them?) sat. They stare at their phones in perfect unison. Madi pops the piece of gum she was chewing, winks at Eric, and looks at me. "What do you want?" She sends a look to the Barbies. They get up and walk to the front of the bus to sit. "Make it quick." She says, sending a glare to me. "Umm..." Eric starts. "Have you e-ever been to Charleston before?" Madi shakes her head. "Oh." He gets his composure back and starts again. "Do you happen to be related to anyone with black hair?" Wow, smooth. Addison and I roll our eyes. "Yeah, actually I am." She says softly. "My mom. I've never met her before though." "Do you know where she lives?" Eric questions. "Yup. A couple miles from here."
