"What?!" Eric said. Our mouths dropped open. "No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. No way. No, no, no, no." Madi muttered over and over. She kicked and punched at the bubble until it popped. "Let me out of here!" She started crying. "Now Madi," The witch said. "That's no way to act. Just sit down here and take this." She shoves a bottle from the shelves into Madi's arms. Madi nods as if in a trance and chugs the bottle. She screams, falls out of her chair, and passes out. "What'd you do to her?" I ask. This is seriously freaking me out. "Nothing much. Any more stupid questions?" "Yeah," I say. "Can you explain why you sent Eric to find me? It's the least you can do." Madi's mother smiles. "Ah Eric. My third transformation! Three really is a lucky number. He found his way inside my hideout and I knew right then he would be the perfect heartbreaker for my love's mermaid daughter!" "Yeah right." Eric mutters with a smirk. "He would take her soul shell as mine and I would be queen of the ocean! How do you feel about that, Princess Crystal?" What?! "Soul shell?" Eric asked. "Before her father passed away, he put his remaining soul into a secret shell to give to Crystal. I'm done waiting, I need that shell!" The Mermaid Crusher grabs my arms and shouts. "Now tell me where it is!"
