This Time

Surprised

Kim’s POV

It was almost dinner when I received a message from an unknown number. As I opened it, it was actually a message from Pie saying that she got home safely. My phone got busted and was not working the last time since we got home from the outing, so new numbers are all unsaved.

I was shocked to see a blue box in my desk earlier today. It had my name on it so I assumed that it was for me, and to my surprise, it really was for me. it was a set of new pens and pencils that I can use for my drawings, something that Pie gave me. She still knew what kind of brand I used; I never changed the kind of pens that I buy. I thanked her a lot for that.

I didn’t thought of the gesture as a way to court me, but I guess that’s her way to show me that she really is sincere when she told me that she still loves me and she wants to win me back. I think it’s kinda cute because I never imagined Pie doing these things just to get me. Just the thought of it makes me smile.

As I was looking at the pens, guess what, my best friend came in and grabbed them away from me.

“Wow, a new admirer buddy? Since we got here, you surely get lots of presents from girls. I am a guy and I don’t get much. Why is that?” Shone said trying to sound sad about the idea of me being more attractive than he is.

“No silly. Those are from Pie. She got me new sets; she left it in my desk earlier.”

“So she’s courting you now? the tables have turned.” He said laughing.

“No table turned, you know I never courted Pie before. She’s just trying to be nice and shows that she really did changed. She even bought me these.” I said as I raised the pens using my right hand.

“Whatever you say buddy, but don’t get to happy yet. You yourself are undecided. You better sort your feelings out before you let Pie continue doing these things.” He looked at me and made a good inhale of the air. “If you are not sure of wanting her back on your life, better tell her early, as I see she really is serious in winning you back. Don’t hurt her again Kim.”

“Wow.” I said with great disappointment with how he said it. “Just wow. So I hurt her before? Isn’t it her who hurt me? And now that she’s winning me back you think that I will hurt her or use this as revenge to her? Great thinking Shone.”

“You know that’s not what I meant. I meant that if you’re not sure, don’t make things more complicated and tell that to her earlier. Spare her from the hurts Kim. She did say she regretted hurting you because you weren’t the one only hurt during that time Kim. She was devastated when you left. I know because she asked me and Fern told me that. So sort your feelings right. You can’t hurt Pie buddy, if you love her, then be with her, if not, then let her go so she can move on.” He said tapping my shoulder.

“I know, I’m sorry buddy. I will. You know I love Pie and there’s a part in me that still longs and wants to be with her but I’m afraid to do it again. I don’t want to get hurt. What will I do?” I was pushing myself to the limit already. I love Pie. I love her so much.

“Then sort your feelings while doing this thing. Talk to Pie, tell her that with what you two are doing, you can’t promise to be with her but you are sorting your feelings for her, but assure her that you love her so she can use that as a motivation and you’ll see through her efforts how serious she is to win you back.”

“I guess I will talk to her, I have too. I don’t want to waste our time. Thanks buddy.”

While we were talking my phone beeped, and I received another message from Pie. But before I can even grab my phone, Shone has it already and is reading the message.
