The next few weeks are full of late night study sessions and practices for the upcoming play. Emi was always super stressed about messing up her lines, Cathy as always was perfect, and I waited until the last week to learn my lines because I was too busy trying to remember what order the animal kingdom should be placed in.
Really, what the heck is a protozoa and what does it have to do with metazoas? Is that some other form of cheese???
None-the-less, I get past the hard studies and learn my lines in time for the show.
The first night of the play, Emi is flipping out, Cathy is drilling through her lines, and I'm running around like crazy, helping with makeup and anything else that someone needed.
During the show I was appointed the "director's Shadow" which mostly meant I followed them around and helped them run the entire show, making sure everything went smoothly, and as I was doing Nolan's makeup, my beautiful brain gave me the most devious and perfect idea. . .
"Alright, your eyeliner, blush, foundation, and lipstick is all done." I say and lean back to admire my work. Nolan nods and tries to stand up, but I shove him back into the chair.
"Nu-uh mister." I say, playfully glaring at him, "I still have to do your eyebrows, but. . . I have to, um, help Anne with, uh. . . Jackson's make up! yeah? I'll get-Emi to do it. Hey Ema!"
I wave frantically at Emi and she looks up from her script and at me confused, but then she sees who's makeup I'm doing and her eyes immediately widen. I point to the makeup, then at my eyebrows, and finally at Nolan, who looks confused as ever as he stares between Ema and I. Her eyes immediately light up and she smiles and throws her script onto the ground before she runs over to us.
"He-Hey big brother," She says, excitedly hugging him and I smile as he smiles and hugs her back.
Ever since she got the role as Nolan's sister she was always calling him big brother as a joke and I think that it's the most adorable thing ever.
"Hi, Em," Nolan states with his usual rosy-cheeked smile after she let him go and Emi blushes lightly, looking down at her feet.
"Hello love, I need you to do Nolan's make up cause I gotta go get ready," I say sweetly and start to back away.
"I thought you had to help Jackson with his-"
"I'll leave you to it! Bye." I quickly cut Nolan off, winking at Emi and then running away.
She blushes once again, then gets to work on Nolan's face. (A/N yes I worded it like that, just ignore it).

The next week goes by and all the shows for the play ended amazingly, with a few people crying, but that was just because it was such a moving story. When the last show was over, I ran to find Emi and Cathy. Entering from the backstage wing, I find them talking and hanging by the water fountain.
With that, I sprint and gracefully jump onto Emi's back.
"Waaaaaaaaaa-Sophia! you're too heavy I'm-I'm gonna-" She is then cut off when the both of us plummet to the ground.
I groan as Emi's small body falls on top of me after my back hits the hard floors of the school halls. For a small girl, she ways a LOT.
"Emi, get off me!" I whine, but she decides to be a butt and doesn't move.
"Cathy? a little help here?" I say as I began to lose my ability to breath, looking up at Catherine hopefully, but she just giggles and shakes her head.
