December twenty-sixth, 2006,

"I'll see you next year," I joke with my dad as I hugged him tightly.

He laughs and squeezes me tightly before letting go.

"Fight 3 for California is now boarding," a man's voice says over the intercom.

"That's mine," dad says.

he smiles at me sadly and places a hand on my cheek. His thumb rubs over my cheek bone and he leans forward and kisses my forehead lightly.

"Bye sweetie," he says.

I hand him his luggage and smile.

"Bye."

And with that, he disappears in the bustling movement of the crowd. The Airport is packed with people leaving from visiting families and friends.

"Come on," Conner says grabbing my hand, "Let's go back to your place."

"Alright," I say and sigh.

We both walk out of the Airport and towards Conner's car.

When we step inside and buckle Conner grabs my hands and looks me in the eyes.

"I'm sorry your dad is always gone on those meetings, but that doesn't mean you have to always mope about it," he says smiling sadly, "Brighten up, you have a whole house to yourself and I can also come over and keep you company if you want."

I smile and lean forward, kissing him softly.

"Thanks," I say when I pull away.

He pecks my cheek and turns back towards the wheel and leaves the parking lot. Once we park in my driveway Conner and I step out and walk onto the porch.

"So what should we do?" I ask as we walk inside.

I don't kno- WAIT!!! Do you have any sleds?" Conner ask, his eyes glowing with excitement.

"Yes?" I say laughing at him as he bounced up and down on the balls of his feet.

"Let's go sledding," he says.

"Okay," I say, "the sleds are in the garage, I can get-"

Conner grabs my arm and rushes towards the garage door and inside. After grabbing the sleds we put on some snow gear and rush towards the giant hill in my neighbors yard.

Conner makes it to the top of the hill before me and waist no time. He runs and jumps onto his sled at the last minute. He shoots down the hill at top speed.

"WAIT CONNER DON'T-" I try to warn him but it's too late.

"GAH!!!" I scream as Conner slams into my legs and I fall forward and onto his lap.

We both scream as we sled down the hill even faster. I quickly wrap my arms around his neck so I don't fall off and he wraps his around my waist. Right as we reach the bottom of the hill, the sled hits a septic tank that stuck up out of the ground.

We both scream even louder as we flip over and land on the ground in a tangled mess of limbs.

"Ow," Conner moans as I slam onto his stomach.

"That was awesome," I say and jump up, "Let's do it again."

I grab his arm and pull him up.

"Wait, ugh," he says as I drag him up the hill.

"Stop being a baby and let's go," I say and shove Conner onto the sled once we make it to the top.

He rolls his eyes but pats his lap. I gently sit down and Conner wraps his arms around my waist.

"Ready?" he ask and I nod.

"Let's go," I say and he uses his feet to push us forward and down the hill, a little slower than the first time.

We stay out there for an hour or two, sledding and playing around. When we get back to the house our fingers are  are numb and our cheeks are frozen and rosy.

I turn on the TV and sit down on the couch.

"Oh wait!" Conner suddenly says and he runs towards the door "Wait right here i'll be back."

And with that he runs back outside. A few seconds later he comes back in with a box wrapped in blue wrapping paper and a silver bow.

"Merry Christmas," he says, handing me the box and sitting down next to me.

I look at him with wide eyes and he nods. I immediately rip apart the paper and open the box to see a book. I then see the cover and scream.

"You got me blood sisters?!?" I scream and pounce onto Conner, hugging him as tight as ever.

"Yes," he says gasping for air, "Now can you let go of me, you're kinda suffocating me."

I laugh and let him go, but then I kiss him a few seconds after.

"Thank you," I murmur against his lips and pull away.

"You're welcome," he says and pecks my lips quickly.

We then lay down and snuggle together on the couch.

Halfway through the show, which Conner was showing me, I remembered the New Years party.

"Oh Conner?" I ask and sit up.

"Yes?" he mumbles and pulls me back down into his chest.

I giggle and snuggle up to him.

"Ema, Catherine, and I were invited to a New Years Eve party and I want to know if you wanna come with?" I ask.

"Yeah, a party sounds great," he says, "Need a ride?"

"No Emi and I are going together, but I'll send you the address and details so you know how to get there."

"Great," he says and pecks my nose, but then he gets up.

"I have to go now, I'll see you tomorrow right?" Conner ask.

I sit up and pout but nod my head.

"Now what did I say about moping and pouting?" he asks grabbing my chin.

He kisses me sweetly and when we pull apart, he grabs his stuff and leaves. I watch through the window as his car disappears around the corner and sigh.

I walk back to the couch and lay down and finish the show. I end up staying there all day and I eventually fall asleep.
