February twelfth, 2007,
My annoying alarm clock rings in my ears in a very unpleasant way.
"Mrrrrhhg," I grumble as I sit up and turn it off.
"Why so early," I say and sigh as I stand up.
I walk over to my closet and grab a normal black sweater and white skinny jeans. I grab my glasses, converse, and undergarments and stalk to the bathroom, still half asleep. I turn the shower on and quickly strip and step in. Washing up spend a few extra blissful minutes in the shower and then step out.
After getting ready I walk downstairs and grab a pop tart for breakfast and walk outside.
I get to the school half an hour before my first class so I walk over to my locker and set my stuff there. As I'm grabbing a few notebooks out of my bag I look over to the locker next to mine.
Eithen's locker.
I peek over my shoulder for anyone who might be looking. The halls were completely empty. Most people were probably getting a few extra minutes of sleep in or are at extra activities right now.
I grab the note out of my backpack and quickly stuff it inside Eithen's locker. Just then I hear someone clear their throat behind me. My breath hitches and I slowly turn around, only to sigh in relief when I see Emi there.
She had her hands on her hips and she's glaring at me with disapproval?
"Are you seriously going to do this?" she asks.
"Do what?" I ask innocently.
"Sophia," she grumbles, "You just got over a break up like a month ago, and now you're just skipping off to another guy? The same guy you have liked since you were 11, who never even pays attention to you!?!"
"He does now," I say leaning against my locker, "And i'm more comfortable around him now, and he's nothing like C-conner."
Emi's eyes soften and she places a hand on my shoulder before she wraps me in a tight hug.
"I know," she says when she pulls away, "I just don't want you to have your heart broken again."
"He's different Emi," I say wiping away small tears that are trying to escape, "and Conner was an idiotic 16 year old boy who couldn't keep it in his pants."
Emi laughs and kisses my cheek before leaning on Eithen's locker next to me.
"So, when is your dad gonna be back?" Emi ask.
"Two days, or three I hope," I say.
My dad still hasn't come back from his "One week" work trip, I have called him, I told him about Conner but not about the party just that we haven't been that into it so we decided to off it. He called a few days ago saying he'll be home in the next few days and I've been patiently (not really) waiting for him to walk through the front door and give me a big hug.
"Don't worry," Emi says when she sees my mood drop, "I bet he'll be home by tomorrow."
"Yeah thanks, we uh, we should go to class," I say and just then the bell rings.
"Come on," I say and grab Emi's arm.

"Alright, i'm going to walk around campus for free period, see ya in history," I say to Emi and Cathy as I stand up from the lunch table.
"Alright see ya," Cathy says and i walk out of the noisy lunch room.
As i'm walking I hear someone call my name. I turn around and see Eithen standing by our lockers, waving me over. I hesitantly walk over and smile at him.
"Hey Saph," he says.
"Hay," I say, "you need anything?"
"Oh um y-yeah," Eithen says nervously playing with the zipper on his green hoodie, "I was, um wondering if you would like to come to my game this weekend?"
I smile and nod and he releases a breath.
"Yes I would love to, mind if I bring Emi and Cathy?" I ask.
"No, no, anyone is welcome to that game," Eithen says and he smiles back at me.
"Okay see ya around," I say and wave as I walk away.
"See ya Saph," He says and I turn a corner, catching one last glance at his beautiful face.
I slam into the girl's bathroom next to me and sigh when I see no one in here. I look into the mirror and see a smile on my face that made my cheeks feel numb. I sigh and then laugh a little.
"Maybe things can be better now," I whisper quietly to myself.
Or maybe this is all a mistake.
