Lauren walked up to the familiar front porch of Rick's house, taking a deep breath as she stood in front of their door.
She had been absorbing the details she got from her friends on the way to her boyfriend's house and she tried to formulate different theories in her head as to why Rick and Y/N did it. Rick had the looks for it but he was always kind and a gentleman when it comes to Lauren. She couldn't quite imagine it but the idea was there. As for Y/N, Lauren knew she could be a kind of a bully but she never took it seriously. She just loved annoying people and Lauren knew that Y/N wouldn't stoop so low for respect. The Ryfords already have that and it would be too much if she asked for more attention. That wasn't the Y/N that Lauren grew up with. But then she thought that maybe Y/N has changed and she doesn't know her anymore but Normani said that it was all Rick's idea and he only forced Y/N to do it. Lauren considered it but she still didn't believe that Rick would do such thing. She didn't know but she sees Rick as someone who has high standards.
That's the reason why she liked him but right now, she doesn't know anymore. Lauren's friends wouldn't lie to her like that and her head was starting to ache by the overwhleming issue and she needed answers. Quick.
Lauren rang the doorbell and waited by the maroon gate for someone to answer. She pressed twice after a few minutes and waited again. Lauren's brows furrowed when she had been waiting for ten minutes and still, no one answered the door. Rick lived with his younger sister, Elise, who was only fond of Lauren when she was around, and their mother. Rick's father was a busy person and rarely comes home that Lauren only saw him in pictures. Lauren peeked at the gaps in the gate and saw no sign of anybody inside the house. Maybe they were out together.
Lauren fished her phone out of her pocket and began calling Rick. It went straight to voicemail and she groaned as she typed a message for him, cursing when she knew she wouldn't be getting the answers she wanted.
"He went out without me knowing again," Lauren said to herself, dropping down on the porch to wait for another ten minutes. It was past five in the afternoon and the sun was setting, painting the sky with a mess of orange, pink, and a tinge of violet.
All of a sudden, she heard a rumbling of a car and a matte black Audi R8 with gold accents drove by in a blink of an eye. She have never seen that car around and she wondered if there are billionaires in the neighborhood that owns that dope luxury car. Her heart stopped at the realization of the only billionaire she knew and before she could even react, the Audi was backing up until it was parked in front of Rick's house.
"Rick?" Lauren squinted her eyes so she could see if it was really her boyfriend but the windows were tinted.
Lauren stood up and was about to walk towards the car when the driver's door opened, revealing the person she least expected to come up. Y/N got out of the Audi as Lauren's mouth dropped at the sight. The car and the person standing by it only made the atmosphere hotter and Lauren shivered as Y/N brushed her hair up before meeting her eyes.
"Fuck," Lauren muttered, the piercing blue eyes of Y/N darting straight to her as she felt her knees buckling under her weight.
Y/N was wearing a simple white button down shirt, cuffed skinny jeans that was showing her ankles, and a navy blue chukka boots, finishing her outfit with a yellow gold GMT-Master II Rolex. God, she sure knows fashion. Lauren, however, caught a silver lace around her neck, the rest hidden under her shirt.
                              "Is this Rick's house?"
Lauren was brought out of her trance as she heard the familiar voice, forcing her green eyes to look up at the angelic face of Y/N. Nothing much has changed, Lauren thought to herself. Y/N's face became matured but she still had the baby skin Lauren always admired her for. As she got closer, Lauren caught Y/N's alluring scent and she almost grabbed her just to take it in. If Lauren refused to see what Y/N looked like the first time she got to their school, she was regretting it now because the girl standing before her was literally a goddess. Her long eyelashes, fairly thick eyebrows, pink plump lips, deep gentle eyes but showing superiority at the same time, chiseled cheekbones and her perfectly structured jaws—she's probably prettier than Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty herself.
