After arranging the payment, Y/N drove to the hospital Normani's grandmother was in and approached the front desk.
"Excuse me," Y/N said, slightly panting. "I'm here to settle the bills for Barabara Steward."
"What's your relationship with the patient, Miss?" The nurse asked as Y/N took a deep breath.
"I'm a friend of her granddaughter."
She didn't know if Normani considered her as a friend. They haven't exchanged a word before and as far as Y/N knew, she only bought her milkshake in a certain shop.
"I'm sorry but you're—"
"No, you don't understand," Y/N quickly cut in, laying the duffel bag containing the remaining money. "Their family's short for the payment and I'm here to help. Donation, pledge, gift—whatever you want to call it—I want to help them with this."
The nurse was stunned for a moment, taken aback by Y/N's desparation before handing her a set of papers. "Okay, you just have to fill this out. I can't show you the patient's profile because it's exclusive for family only."
"That's okay," Y/N retorted, taking the pen and the papers before scribbling the informations needed. "I know them."
The nurse smiled as she admired Y/N for a moment. "For a teenager like you, you seem to like helping a lot."
"I'm actually ruining people's life," Y/N admitted gloomily. "Here. Can you keep my name private?"
"You don't want them knowing it's you who paid for their bills?"
Y/N shook her head, sliding the bag forward before putting her hands in her pocket. "I'm no one. Anyways, may I at least know how Barbara's doing?"
"Oh, she's doing good," the nurse said, skimming through the paper Y/N just signed. "Has a strong will, and it wasn't anything major. It was a minor shock that caused her to faint. Surprised by a news they said."
Y/N bit her lip, knowing all too well what she was talking about. "For how long is she going to be here?"
"For three more days at most. She's recovering fast. Like I said, strong-willed. She'll be back to normal in no time."
"Okay. Thanks."
Y/N's eyes caught a tired woman approaching them from her left and when she turned, she had a feeling that she could be related with Normani. She smiled one last time at the nurse before walking away.
"For Barbara Steward, please," the woman said, sliding the money towards the nurse.
The nurse smiled at her and gently pushed the bills back to her. "It's already paid."
"What? B-by whom? We haven't—"
She was cut off when the nurse pointed a finger to Y/N who just passed the hospital doors. "She did."

Normani wasn't sure what Y/N wanted to talk about but she was certain that she wasn't in the mood to communicate with anybody. Even Reece's calls and texts were neglected and Normani felt bad for ignoring her boyfriend. He's probably more worried about her situation more than she was. A black Audi stopped in front of Normani's house, gaining her attention.
