The stands were filled with faces of strangers, aliens talking to each other and people Y/N hadn't seen before absorbing the energy of the night. It was the game everyone had been waiting for—the battle of the Walnut Hills Eagles against the Mason Comets. Honestly, the billionaire understood none of this celebration—from the band playing to the football itself. What kind of person wouldn't know the rules of the football? Nevertheless, Y/N wasn't here to study about the school's playbook or anything but she was there for support and supporting is what she'll do. Megan told her to have a seat near the sidelines so she'd get a clear sight of her and now she was watching the cheer captain stretch with her team, sending flirty looks at Y/N sporadically.
Navy blue and gold lined one side of the crowd as the other was painted with green and white, the colors representing each school. The navy blue and gold was for the Eagles whilst the green and white was to show support for the Comets.
A pair of emerald eyes scanned the area, seeking for Y/N, when she saw Megan making her way to the bleachers where the billionaire was currently sitting at. For some reason, Lauren's demeanor suddenly changed and it was as if someone else took over her body. As she was sat between Ally and Normani, her hands clenched while watching Megan lean over Y/N's ear, whispering something her hearing couldn't reach and the pair laughed. Lauren didn't miss the devilish smirk Y/N had and it wasn't as appealing as the green-eyed girl would usually find. So she was fucking Tracy while she was fucking this bitch.
But then she was reminded of Y/N's past lifestyle before she met her again. The girls told her about her ventures as a well-known daughter of the owner of a famous company, which gave her the reputation with women she slept with.
Lauren thought of what she could've have been if she didn't tell Y/N that she was her childhood friend. Would she interest the billionaire the way she did or would she take her for granted instead? Or maybe she'd be an addition to her collection of booty calls. None of the options that formed in Lauren's head seemed to be ideal and it wasn't like she wanted to go back to the start. Despite the lack of speaking terms, Lauren thought it was better that things between her and Y/N had progressed the way they did. She only wished that there was a way to put everything back together, to have Y/N beside her again instead of Megan making out with her before the game.
"You should go," Y/N breathed against Megan's lips, her hands holding onto her waist. "The game's almost starting."
Megan shook her head knowingly as she smiled down at Y/N. "You don't even know anything of what's going on around you. How would you know it's almost starting?"
"Because," Y/N began, her ocean eyes looked past Megan's shoulder to the cheerleaders who had their expectant gazes on them, "they've been looking at us like that for a while now and I don't think they're just doing it for their own pleasure. Not at this exact moment, at least."
"Maybe they're watching us because they're jealous." Megan giggled and pressed a hand on Y/N's chest as she bit her lip. "We'll continue this later."
"I'm starting to find your stamina immeasurable," Y/N said as Megan started to walk away.
"If you're banging someone like you, it's an essential, babe." Megan blew her a kiss and winked at her before turning around to rejoin the cheerleading squad.
Just like Megan said, Y/N's knowledge about what's going on was undoubtedly next to nothing. She knew that her friends would be fighting against Rick's team, and she anticipated that things would get physical along the way, but she was clueless when it came to the mechanism of the game. People in colors ran, holding the prolate spheroid shaped ball and hurling it across the field, tackling bodies down here and there—they all happened. Sometimes even all at once, but still, Y/N didn't understand the mechanics.
