Y/N pursed her lips together as she stared at the button down shirt in front of her, considering the cream white color and the flowers scattered all over it. She put it back in the racks and took a different shirt instead, liking this one better in navy blue with roses on it. She hung them on her arm as she walked away, looking around the spacious area of Forever 21.
"How's the devil doing without her favorite friend?"
Y/N stopped in her tracks, the familiar voice ringing in her ears. She turned around to see Rick standing a few feet away from her, his gaze goading. He chuckled, stepping closer to her before placing his hands on her shoulder. Y/N didn't take her eyes off of him, not wanting to spend any more time with her rival but also curious about what he came for. Their meetings don't usually end up good but she was confident she would win anyway.
"Is everyone missing me at school already?" Rick asked, acting like he was taking dusts off of Y/N's shirt.
"Yeah," Y/N replied simply. "If what you meant by missing you is everyone dying to see you again so they're reminded how awful their lives are because they're in the same school as you."
Rick laughed loudly, earning dirty glances from the people around them but neither of them cared. "I think that's what Lauren liked about you. You've got a sharp tongue and you think that'll bring you places."
"It took me inside your girlfriend, made her eyes roll to the back of her head—something you weren't given the consent to do so." Y/N smirked, noticing the way Rick's face turned into a scowl. "Don't worry though. We can go get coffee and I'll tell you how pleasurable it is in case you're still hoping for some action with her." Y/N couldn't help but laugh at his expression. "It's a shame that you like provoking someone who's been living your dreams. Will that bring you places? Huh, Rick?"
Rick took another step closer, their noses almost touching. "How about we go get coffee so I can tell you how she's only using you to move on from me?"
"The question should be: are you even worth the effort of moving on? It's a good thing you're worrying about Jauregui but I'm mostly certain that she's happy you're no longer around—everybody is."
"Fine," Rick said, his nostrils already fuming. "Don't believe me. But just so you know, I know Lauren better than you do. I've been there before you."
Y/N grinned at his ridiculousness. "And where are you in her life now? The trash can?"
"You're only a tool to her, Y/N," Rick said, ignoring the girl's insult. "Watch her come beg for me to come back. She'll realize that you're not the one she's looking for."
"The day Jauregui broke up with you, you told them that I'm only using her and her friends and now you're saying that she's using me," Y/N recalled. "In Biology it's called mutualism and if that's the case, I should be thankful, then."
"Lauren's only sucking your balls because she loves the attention you're giving her. Why do you think she always came running to you back then when we were fighting? Because I wasn't there and you're also thirsty for pussy and the timing is just perfect for you to hook up behind my back." Rick grinned proudly when he saw Y/N's bewildered expression, nodding her head. "Yeah. I already know the nasty shits you did."
Y/N couldn't speak, her mind jogging back to the moments she'd spent with Lauren and if they ever happened in public for the news to reach Rick. She thought about the students from her school, and thought against it because they couldn't know that they're having sex while Lauren was still with Rick. There were rumors, yes, and she was sure Rick knew about it when he was still in Walnut Hills and he didn't believe it because he knew those stories came from people who loved gossiping. Today was different though. Rick knew what he was talking about and Y/N's stomach stirred at the thought of having a snitch from one of her friends. No one knew about them hooking up aside from Lauren's friends. They agreed not to tell their boyfriends about it when Rick was still in the football team but Y/N wasn't sure if the girls said a word with one of the guys since Rick transferred schools.
