Lauren melted as Y/N's eyes bore into hers, the serene expression of her calm waves anticipating her answer. She wasn't sure what to say. She have never seen Y/N this transparent and vocal with her feelings for her but what she said was a clear indication that Y/N wanted her and she wasn't fooling around anymore.
Y/N wasn't certain where those words came from but she felt pressured all of a sudden after her conversation with Cash and AJ. She got suffocated from the thought that she couldn't act the way she wanted to because she was afraid of what might happen in the future when her father knew about what she had with Lauren but at the same time, she didn't want to lose the green-eyed girl and have her going for somebody else who couldn't love her better than she could. She felt the urge to tell Lauren to stay with her no matter what happens because she was certain that it wasn't going to be a smooth ride for the both of them.
She concluded that they could do things low key but she was also worried of her possessive side and she knew one day she'd want to show Lauren off the world to prevent people going after her. It was a dangerous step towards hell but she wouldn't mind walking through it with the green-eyed girl beside her.
"Ryford, I . . . " Lauren trailed off, uncertain of the sudden happenings and how she'd act upon it.
Lauren knew she liked Y/N but she wasn't sure if she was ready to take the next step yet. It wasn't that she hasn't moved on from her previous relationship but it was because she didn't know how everything will be with Y/N. She wasn't just a normal person. She's an actual multi billionaire at the age of seventeen for crying out loud.
Her thoughts were cut off by the sound of a camera's shutter going off and both of them instantly turned to the direction where it came from.
Y/N's blood began to boil when she saw the same guy who took a picture of her when she was about to call Megan in the parking lot of the school before. She quickly backed away from Lauren to come after the guy who was already running towards the field. Y/N groaned and bolted to where he went.
"Ryford!" Lauren called after her, catching up in case something goes wrong.
This guy had a curly hair and he wasn't even that tall so it was easy for him to hide himself. However, Y/N didn't take her eyes off of him and with narrowed eyes, she ran as fast as her legs could go. She heard Lauren's footsteps behind her but she didn't stop. Her stalker was tiny enough to run just as quickly. Y/N was angry now and with determined legs, she made it to the point that she was at arm's length close to him but she couldn't grab him so she hopped on her feet and tackled him from behind.
They landed with a thud on the moist ground of the football field and the guy grunted when his camera got squashed beneath their weight. He tried to get Y/N off of her but she was surprisingly stronger than him. Apparently, he wasn't aware of the fights Y/N had encountered before. Too ironic for someone who had been stalking her.
Y/N violently snatched the student's camera from him and taking it off of him completely through his head with slight difficulty. Lauren caught up to them, panting, just as Y/N was standing up on her feet. It was the same Canon camera he used before. The guy tried to steal it back but she was quick to turn her body around and kicked him on his ass to land on his face. Lauren grimaced as she witnessed the swift assault and created a safe space between her and Y/N.
"What's your name?" Y/N asked, her throat dry from running.
When he didn't answer—he was too busy glaring at Y/N as if he was hoping it would scare her—she stepped towards him to force him to speak but Lauren held her back by her arm.
"Ryford, please," Lauren whispered, clutching her arm tightly, knowing that the billionaire could do more harm if she wanted to. "Don't."
"He wouldn't speak if I don't push him," Y/N said through gritted teeth, the pictures she saw from his camera enough to rile her up.
