Y/N couldn't get her mind off of Lauren the entire day. Even Jamie and her coworkers noticed her disposition but shrugged it off instead of talking to her. They knew that Y/N would open up if she wanted to. The billionaire refrained from talking to the green-eyed girl, giving her the space that she asked for though Normani texted her and said that Dinah drove her home and she was silent the entire time. At least she knew she was okay.

When she got home, she saw Brooke and Chris talking by the fireplace of their living room and their backs on Y/N. It seemed like it was something serious until she heard a particular last name—Jauregui.

"That's the reason why I'm not entirely sure with what they're doing," Brooke admitted to Chris, the guy rubbing her shoulder to comfort her. "We're aware that Y/N's been sleeping with whomever she pleases but Lauren's . . . different. It'll end up in a disaster."

Y/N cleared her throat as she entered the living room, sitting on the fancy recliner beside Brooke. "How was your trip around town today? Found any shops you'd get some decorations from?"

"Hey, Y/N," Chris greeted as Y/N nodded at his direction. "I kept telling Brooke that Target would surely have them but she still insisted on going on a hunt for shops so, it turned out to be a date. Not that I'm complaining though."

"You better not be," Brooke said threateningly, causing Chris to laugh. "Anyway, how was school?"

"Please." Y/N rolled her eyes. "High school is full of drama and I'm sure you don't want to hear it."

"Come on, tell me," Brooke said persistently, turning her entire body to meet Y/N's eyes. "I love high school drama."

"Well, you know that I'm not exactly friends with Rick, don't you? Jauregui's boyfriend?"

"I think I know where this is going," Brooke said, leaning back on her chair. "Carry on."

Y/N told them everything, knowing that she could trust her sister and she'd never tell Warren. She told them how Rick tried to make amends with Lauren's friends and the reason why he wasn't on good terms with his own girlfriend's friends before telling them the whole fiasco earlier.

"And she basically broke up with Rick," Y/N finished, watching Brooke's expression carefully. "I can see that you're quite impressed but you're still not going to permit Jauregui and I although you told me that you'd trust me this time."

"I told you I'm still wrapping my head around your relationship," Brooke reminded her. "She's ignoring you, then?"

"Most likely," Y/N retorted as she shrugged. "I'm going to try to talk to her when the time allows me. I think she's also mad at me because I knew better than to rile Rick up but did it anyway."

"It doesn't seem like it bothers you."

"Because I know I did what's right."

"If it was right, she would have been talking to you right now."

"She was happy and it was all replaced with disappointment when I came but it wasn't entirely my fault. Rick was being childish."

"At least they knew that he was fake," Chris spoke up. "And based on what you told us, Rick doesn't seem like a boyfriend material."

"I think he was," Y/N admitted halfheartedly. "He was nice at first but he didn't have the consistency."

"Your friend deserves better," Chris said earning a nod from Brooke.

"But you're not going to hit on her right away," Brooke quickly cut in, making the two laugh at her. "I'm serious."

"God, Brooke, I know," Y/N said, rolling her eyes at her sister. "You think I'm the type to go as a rebound?"
