Lauren huffed as she placed her books in her locker, leaning against the cold metal door for a moment whilst she took in everything that has been happening to her lately. Time's flying by too fast. First, she made amends with Y/N and when she went back to their group, Lauren broke up with Rick and he left the school. Next, Y/N's around more often and now she volunteered to go with Lauren for halloween as a couple and she doesn't know how to feel about it because it's just too much for her.
Lauren can't exactly just jump on Y/N after breaking up with Rick because it would make her look bad bad despite her growing feelings for Y/N. The billionaire wasn't exactly making it easy for her.
Recently, the girl had been persistent with the fact that they should have a meeting for at least twice a week regarding their halloween costume. Y/N wanted the both of them to be iconic and remembered even after they leave Walnut Hills. Lauren doubt that people won't remember them with the reputation Y/N already had. Hanging out with her would automatically make her unforgettable.
Furthermore, Y/N's always with them if she wasn't with Cash. She wasn't exactly vocal about her intentions for Lauren but her actions were enough and she didn't want to go too fast—or to look desperate for Lauren—but she couldn't help herself around the green-eyed girl.
"Hey, babe," Normani approached, putting a gentle hand on her shoulder. "You alright?"
Lauren lifted her head up and smiled at Normani. "Yeah. I'm good."
Normani stared at her for a moment before grabbing her hand and linking their fingers together. "Come on. The girls are waiting for us. Whatever it is, I'm sure some chicken wings will make it go away."
Lauren couldn't help but giggle as she followed Normani's lead. She surely knew how to make her feel better.
"How was tryouts?" Y/N asked as she sat down between Cash and Tracy.
"I don't think I did my best," AJ said worriedly, staring blankly ahead. "I was too fucking hungover."
"It wasn't a good idea to go to a party before tryouts," Cash added in realization. "Totally not. My feet were so heavy and I barely did a proper tackle."
"You've got to be kidding me." AJ turned to her boyfriend, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Babe, you did great! I was even surprised you ran that fast! I was the one who sucked."
Cash wrapped an arm around her as he frowned. "No, you didn't, baby. You were amazing too. Ask Tracy."
All eyes turned to Tracy instantly nodded in approval.
"Yeah, AJ. You were so badass in the court even if your head was aching," Tracy assured her. "You'll still get in the team. I can feel it."
"I bet you will," Y/N chimed in. "No offense but if the team's desperate for a quarterback too, they'd probably be stupid to not choose all three of you. You'll get in, guys."
They all settled in silence for a while, eating what's in front of them and quietly observing their surroundings. Y/N smiled when she saw Lauren and Normani entering the cafeteria and Tracy noticed this. The tiny brunette had a feeling that Y/N might have feelings for Lauren and she was starting to hate herself for feeling resentful because of it. Lately, she had been thinking about Y/N a lot. Ever since AJ and her hung out with Cash and Y/N, she expected that she would fall for the billionaire easily. She acknowledged her feelings for Y/N but she didn't have an idea that last what happened in the party would actually happen.
She wasn't anticipating it that she was caught off guard and now she didn't know what she'll do with her feelings. Tracy was aware that Y/N only gave her her full attention because of her body—because of lust—but she wasn't blind. She knew that look in Y/N's eyes whenever Lauren was around.
