"So when is your 'angel pal' coming?" Evelyn asked, leaning over one of the smaller shelves in the library as she rested her arms on it. She ignored the uncomfortable feeling crawling in her gut at the sword on display next to her.
"He should-" Sam started, but was cut off by the sound of the door to the bunker creaking open.
"Right on time." Dean said, smirking and walking out of the library. Sam followed and the two of them stood by the Map of Worlds table while a man in a tan trench coat walked down the last few steps. Evelyn stood in the entryway of the library, awkwardly observing.
"Hello, Dean, Sam." the man gruffly said, nodding towards the two of them. Evelyn stared at the man in confusion, getting a strange sense of déjà vu at seeing him. He walked towards the table where various lore books were laid, then started scanning them. Something suddenly clicked in Evelyn's brain, and her eyes widened in shock.
"Uncle Steve?" she asked in disbelief, her mouth slightly agape as the man turned around and stared at her. Sam and Dean turned to each other, Dean holding up his hands in defense to show he had no idea what his daughter was talking about.
Lucifer panicked on the inside of Castiel's vessel. He blinked in confusion and did a classic Castiel head tilt, trying to buy himself time. He had never seen this girl before, and he was curious to why she was here. He quickly racked in Castiel's brain, searching for some memory of her, mentally rejoicing when he found one.
"Uh, yes." he said awkwardly, giving her a nod as he stood up straighter. "Hello, Evelyn. Call me Castiel."
"You two..." Sam said, pointing between Evelyn and Castiel-or, at least, who he thought was Cas. "Know each other?"
"He's the uncle I told you about!" Evelyn exclaimed, confusion still getting the best of her. "The one who gave me my necklace!" Dean cocked an eyebrow and stared at Cas, slight anger suddenly coming over him.
"What do you mean he's your uncle?" Dean asked, crossing his arms over his chest. "He's an angel, Ev. This is my 'angel pal' I told you about."
"You're an angel?" Evelyn asked in disbelief, pondering for a moment. "Is that why I never saw you again? You gave me the charm and ditched, didn't you?!"
"You saw her and never even told me?!" Dean exclaimed. Lucifer cringed on the inside at being caught in the middle of a family feud.
"I thought it would be of everyone's best interest to not know about your child, Dean." Lucifer said, feeling proud of his Castiel impression. "It would save all of us trouble."
"Well, I'm here now." Evelyn said sarcastically, throwing her arms up slightly in defeat and shaking her head. She walked over the Map of Worlds table and took a seat on it, staring blankly at Castiel. "Just tell us what you know. I'd rather defeat God's sister than argue with my family."
Castiel turned around and looked at the three boards that Sam and Dean had pulled out. They were all covered in newspaper articles, photos, textbook paragraphs, and many other things. Sam, Dean, and Evelyn had been gathering research for the last few hours while they waited for Cas to arrive so he could look at everything ASAP. Castiel studied them for a moment, his eyes darting everywhere.
"There were several God touched objects," he began, pointing at one of the photos then turning around and looking at the three, "but it never occurred to me that any survived the flood, let alone the twentieth century." Castiel crossed his arms over his chest and furrowed his brow. He seemed genuinely confused.
"Do you think we can use it against Amara?" Sam asked, looking at Cas from her seat at the table. Evelyn sat behind Dean, looking around her father to see Cas.
