The bunker was tense and quiet as everyone scattered around the entryway floor and the library. Chuck was severely injured and sitting in a chair in the library, Rowena next to him with two cups of tea for them to share. Crowley was sitting by himself a bit away from Chuck and Rowena, downing a bottle of vodka and complaining about how he was glad that the world was ending because Chuck and Rowena wouldn't stop talking about their children. Castiel was sitting quietly in his seat at the Map of Worlds table, trying to come to terms that Lucifer was no longer possessing him and he was back to himself. Sam and Dean were sitting around the table as well, trying to come up with ideas on how to save the world before Amara ate the sun and Chuck died.
Evelyn walked back into the entry room carrying two blankets and a small tray full of mugs. She walked over to Chuck, handing him a blanket as The Lord looked at her gratefully. Evelyn smiled softly and walked over to Crowley, asking him if he was alright when all she got in response was him taking another swig of the vodka bottle. Evelyn turned around, clutching the drink tray and heading back to her family.
Evelyn set the drink tray on the Map of Worlds table, throwing the blanket over her shoulder as she slid two mugs of coffee over to Sam and Dean. Dean looked up at her in annoyance, but tried to hide it best he could.
"Ev, we appreciate it," Sam started, picking up on Dean's behavior, "but now may not be the best time for coffee."
"It's got a little something extra if you know what I mean." Evelyn admitted, not missing a beat. She smiled softly as Dean took his mug, taking a sip and taking note of the generous amount of whiskey Evelyn had put in the drink-it hadn't taken Evelyn long to notice how the boys could hold their liquor. Dean was grateful for the drink. Evelyn then turned to Castiel and offered the blanket out to him, the angel looking at her sadly.
"No thank you, Evelyn." Cas said, turning his eyes back to the ground. Evelyn had a tiny flashback to the warehouse, seeing Dean wake up Castiel after Amara had disappeared. Evelyn helped him get up while Sam and Dean assisted Chuck, and Castiel had admitted that he was sorry for ever just showing up to Evelyn's door with the necklace and leaving without any explanation. She forgave him and that was it. She kept her distance ever since they got back to the bunker because she was worried that Lucifer might come back any moment.
"My kid is offering you something." Dean snapped at Castiel, whose eyes turned up to him. "So help me Chuck, Cas, you better take it." Castiel looked back up at Evelyn and she held the blanket out to him, Castiel taking it from her outstretched hand and wrapping the soft fabric around his shoulders. Evelyn slid a cup of coffee to him and Castiel took it, sipping on the hot liquid, his face scrunching up slightly from the extra whiskey. Evelyn took a seat in between Sam and Dean, her father wrapping an arm around her shoulders and hugging her to him. Sam placed his large hand on Evelyn's shoulder, patting a few times then taking his hand away as Dean released her.
"Find anything out yet?" Evelyn asked, looking between her father and uncle. Dean rubbed a hand over his face and Sam shrugged, taking a sip of his coffee.
"Just that the friggin' sun and God are still dying." Dean mumbled, removing his hand from his face and staring at the table.
"Have we found Lucifer yet?" Evelyn asked, an uneasy feeling creeping into her stomach at the mere mention of his name. Chuck hadn't been able to locate him after he was banished from Castiel's body, which made Evelyn more scared since no one knew where he was.
"Not a clue." Sam answered, frowning. Evelyn turned to Dean and bit the inside of her cheek, noticing how his jaw was clenched as he took another sip of his coffee. He had already downed two bottles of beer as soon as Chuck had zapped them all back to the bunker from frustration, and Evelyn was the one who got him and everyone else to calm down while she made some coffee. She liked to think she was pretty good at keeping the peace.
