** 7 Years Later **

Jack's POV

"Woohoo! YAH!" I yell, we rented one jet ski for right now, I cling to the back holding it with all my might, "That's my girl!" For Elise's 13th birthday we took her jet skiing, well I did, Mark stayed on the beach and 'cheered from the sidelines.'

I could hear Mark yelling at us, "You guys have fun out there! Don't die! I'm gonna go get us some pizza!" I could tell he was nervous.

Elise yelled back reassuring Mark, "We'll be fine, dad! Can we get pepperoni?!"

"Sure thing, Cupcake! I'll be right back!" I hopped off and got my own jet ski,

"Ellie! Race me!"

"Oh, you're on!"

"Okay! Ready! Set! Go!!" Elise drove off so fast she did laps around me. We rode around for at least an hour before joining Mark for lunch. "You must've cheated, I never lose!"

"Whatever, vieil homme."

"Hey! I'm only 33!" We laughed and talked for a bit before eating, I could see Elise staring at some boy. "You are 13, you can't even start dating till you're my age!" She blushed, smiled and rolled her eyes.

Mark's POV

Elise didn't want to have a birthday party like before, she just wanted to hang out with her dads at the beach. We have been married for 7 years now and yet it only feels like weeks.

I sat under the umbrella while Jack took Elise out on a jet ski, she always loved the water and she was boss on it too! For her 13th birthday I bought her a jet ski of her own and tickets to Disneyland.

"Woohoo! YAH! That's my girl!" Oh, god. Be careful! It's not that I didn't trust them, it's just- the ocean, it's deep, I-I don't know what's out there.

"You guys have fun out there! Don't die! I'm gonna go get us some pizza!" I am about to walk out but I hear Elise yelling,

"We'll be fine, dad! Can we get pepperoni?!"

"Sure thing, Cupcake! I'll be right back!" The beach was next to a carnival so I thought I would grab some over there. I could see a little girl playing on one of the games, her smile was so bright, it reminded me of Elise when she was younger. I grabbed some pizza and started walking back when I was stopped,

"Hey, Mr. Fischbach? Can you give this to Elise for us?" Myriam, one of Elise's best friends handed me a card, "It's not much, but we saved up to get it." Myriam wrapped her arm around Emily as they walked away. I usually don't snoop but they didn't close the envelope, inside was tickets for her to go parasailing. That's so sweet! I closed up the envelope and walked back with the pizza,

"You must've cheated somehow, I never lose!"

"Whatever, vieil homme."

"Hey! I'm only 33!" We laughed and ate pizza. Jack looked over at Elise staring at some boy, he started gritting his teeth at turned red, "You are 13, you can't even start dating till you're my age!" I could tell she was embarrassed, she started blushing and smiling,

"Jack, calm down, it's just what kids do." I rubbed my thumb over his hand.

"He's just a kid from school."

"Yah, okay... Just a kid..." Jack nodded his head before biting into his pizza. I just giggled and finished eating before handing Elise the envelope,

"Here, Pumpkin. Myriam and Emily saved up a lot of money for this."

"Ah, awesome! Parasailing! You guys comin?"

"I think I'll stay and umm... watch the pizza..." Jack looked at the ground.

Elise's POV

"Alright, see you later, Elle!" Myriam waved at me before walking in the opposite direction. I didn't want a party this year, no reason. Mark picked me up from school, when we got home they surprised me with a trip to the beach.

We raced and messed around for a little, while eating I say that cute boy from school, Daniel Hayborne. I know Jack got in a fight with his family, but he's nothing like them, he's so sweet!

"You're 13, you can't even start dating till you're my age!" Oh my god, dad! I don't think Danny heard him.

"Jack, calm down, it's just what kids do." Mark always has my back.

"He's just a boy from school." I knew he didn't believe me, but it was worth a shot,

"Ya, okay... Just a kid..." Jack nodded, why can't he just leave it alone. Luckily they don't know who he is.

Mark handed me an envelope, ""Here, Pumpkin. Myriam and Emily saved up a lot of money for this."

'We know you guys are rich but we wanted to get you a little something for your birthday.'~ Emily and Myriam.

It was 3 tickets for parasailing. "Ah, awesome! Parasailing! You guys comin?"

"I think I'll stay and umm... watch the pizza..." Should have known, Jack hates heights,

"Come on. For me?" I batted my eyelashes, flashing a big smile. Mark elbowed Jack before nodding.

"F-Fine, I-I'll go." He shook a little bit before calming down. I started looking around for Danny.

"So... what's his name?" Mark laid his head against his hand on the table.

"What?"

"His name? Spill it, girly!" Jack hit my shoulder.

"Uh, Danny..." Don't ask his last name, Don't ask his last name!

"What's his last name?" Damn!

"Umm... I don't remember, I hardly know him" All I could do was stare at the ground. "Uh, Maybe we can invite Myriam and Emily parasailing?" Although I highly doubt Emily would go, she hates heights and there's no changing her mind.

"Maybe Danny could come as well?" Jack stood up,

"No!" I grabbed his arm before quickly letting go, "Umm... no. No."

"Oh. Ok." He sat down, He knows something.

Jack's POV

"So... what's his name?" That boy... why does he look familiar?

"What?"

Hmm... "His name? Spill it, girly!" I slapped her shoulder,

"Umm, Danny..." Danny? Daniel? Daniel Hayborne?! Maybe she doesn't know. Allison also had a daughter, she was an assassin, "What's his last name?"

"Umm, I don't remember, I hardly know him." Hmm, I trained her to lie, but she's still a noob. "Uh, maybe we can invite Myriam and Emily parasailing?"

"Maybe Danny could come as well?" I spot him and stand up,

"No!" She grabbed my arm, "Umm... No. No." What does she know that she isn't telling me?

"Oh. Ok." I sat back down.

"Guys, enough. Let's just enjoy Elise's birthday." Elise called Myriam and Emily, Myriam Joined us parasailing. Never again!

Mark and I laid and talked on the on the beach while Elise went off to the carnival with some of her friends. I can't help but think of Daniel, Allison, and Dakota. Daniel's mom was the first person I ever fell in love with, I was only 15, her name was Christine...

Mark could tell something was bothering me, he grabbed my hand, "Everything okay, babe?"

"Ya, ya... I just can't believe she's 13. It's been 7 years already. It's just a lot to think about."

"Ya, it is." He started tearing up, ugh, now I feel bad.

"7 great years, 12 of the most wonderful years of my life." I kissed him on the cheek and he smiled. I could only give him a weak smile.
