Mark's POV

Elise went to the carnival with Emily and Myriam, Jack and I laid on the beach for a while. Something was troubling Jack, I know Elise was eyeing some boy, but that's nothing to worry about, it's perfectly natural to form crushes. I guess he's just worried about someone trying to hurt our daughter, he still thinks people are out to hurt us and that was 7 years ago...

"Everything okay, babe?" I grabbed his hand and he just stares blankly.

"Ya, ya... I just can't believe she's 13. It's been 7 years already. It's a lot to think about." No, I know him, he- he wouldn't worry about 7 years, but it does make me tear up a little.

"Ya, it is." A worried expression grew on his face and he frantically looked around.

"7 great years, 12 of the most wonderful years of his life." He kissed my cheek and smiled, I couldn't help but smile back. Jack always seems stressed these days and it worries me, we just lay in silence for a little while before I get a text.

Elise- Can I go over to Emily's house?

Mark- Sure, princess. Be back by 10, alright?

Elise- Kk. Luv u!

Mark- Love you too. :-) <3

Elise's POV

After parasailing with my dads and Myriam, we joined Emily down at the carnival.

"Emily, you scaredy cat!" I punched her in the arm,

"Whatever... ooooooh, Elle, look who is over by the ferris wheel, all aloooone." Emily smiled while Myriam repeatedly smacked my arm. It was Danny, I smiled and blushed a little,

"I have a sudden urge to ride the ferris wheel." We all giggled before heading over. Danny had just gotten off and walked toward us.

"Hey, ladies. What are you doing here this fine evening."

"Dan! Just the guy we were looking for, we were heading over to the ferris wheel. Maybe you could join us?" Myriam shrugged a little.

"I was going to get dinner... but sure, why not?" He turned around and walked with us. Myriam and Emily followed behind, giggling every once in awhile.

"Well, it only fits two people..." I looked at the ground.

"I will ride with Ellie and you two can go together." I looked up, Danny just called me Ellie! OMG! We got in together and sat down. I could hear those to whooping and hollering. I blushed,

"You aren't afraid of heights, are you?" Danny looked over,

"No, are you?"

"A little bit." He shook.

"So is my dad, Jack. Umm... Don't- don't look down?" I know my dad's name is Sean, but I don't think he does.

"Haha. You're funny." He giggled, making me blush. He inched his hand closer to mine, "I was gonna eat after this, wanna share a funnel cake with me?" Oh. My. God. This is fantastic! I'm sure Emily and Myriam won't mind. I'm going on my first date, on my birthday!!

"Uh, ya. Sure." He lit up and smiled.

"Sweet!" He seemed giddy, he was one of the most popular kids, and I can't even get Emily to leave her house. I turn back around to see Emily giving me thumbs up and Myriam was flashing finger guns, I wink and they scream.

We got off and headed for the funnel cakes, "So... What's your dad's last name?"

"What?" Does he know?!

"Jack. His name sounds familiar..." We walked past the funnel cake.

"Umm... look! Funnel cake!" I pointed to the big sign.

"Uh, ya..." He looked at me confused before ordering one. We sat down to eat when he looked up at me,

"Is your dad irish?" Shit.

"No. He is half korean and half german..." Having two dads is fantastic. Danny just giggled and started eating.

"You know that's not what I meant." I just sat there and ate my funnel cake.

"I think my mom might know your dad..." Oh, most definitely.

"Maybe, umm... I should go back to the beach, they might get worried..." I stand up and start to stumble everywhere,

"Sorry, Ellie. I can't let that happen, we both know things. Don't worry they won't be worried..." He grabbed my phone and I got dizzy, laying on the ground.

"Is everything okay, sweetie?" I heard a stranger say as they walked past,

"Ya, ya. I'm calling her parents now."

Elise- Can I go to Emily's house?

Mark- Sure, princess. Back by 10 tonight.

"Don't worry. She won't." He laughed before I passed out.
