To the girl at the park,

I was walking home from the office this late afternoon when I saw you. You were sat on a bench half shaded by a tree from the golden orange rays of the sun. I didn't know what you were looking at in your for-professionals-only-I-don't-know-what-it's-called camera, but whatever it was, it made you smile so bright. I swear it was better than the setting sun behind you.

To the girl at the park yesterday,

Is it weird that I kind of feel uninspired to write anything tonight because I did not see you in the park earlier? I just spent the last hour thinking why I can't seem to write. I was clueless until my mind drifted to the park yesterday. To that little frown you had on your forehead. To that bright upward curve of your lips that can compete against the late afternoon sun. To you.

I am enthralled by you.

To the missing girl at the park,

I walked Zero around the perimeter just in case I get to catch a glimpse of that smile again. I guess I shouldn't have pushed my luck. It was a Sunday, a rest day. You weren't there.

Miss Photographer,

You were there today! You were wearing a loose flannel over a white shirt, tights, kicks, and your hair was tied in a high bun. You were walking around the park, for-professionals-only-I-still-don't-know-what-it's-called camera at hand, ready to take shots. I guess you are a photographer of some sorts?

You looked so ethereal, I had to stop. You were my only focus. Everything around you were blurred. They were mute. I was drowning in you.

Miss Photographer,

I guess you aren't a regular at the park? I didn't see you today.

I haven't written anything yet for a book I'm supposed to write, and my editor slash critique slash publisher slash hater slash friend, Kristoffer, is currently yelling at me now. I'm just pretending that I have something figured out when, in fact, I am writing you a letter I'm sure you won't even get to read.

P.S.

Zero says hi. This big buddy wants dog food. Ciao.
