4) The New Girl

'Get everything sorted?', Finn asked, when I came out of Principal Figgin's office.

I couldn't believe that he was there waiting for me! I thought he would have gone to class, not caring about the new girl ( i.e. me ).

'Um, yeah', I replied, 'There's just a lot to take in you know?'

'Yeah, well I already said if there's anything you want me to help you with just let me know', Finn reminded me.

'Yeah thank you again', I said, looking up at him ( He was seriously tall ).

'What number is your locker?', Finn asked spontaneously, as we continued to walk down the hall together, 'You don't want to bringing all your books around with you all day.'

'Um I think it says it here', I replied, handing him a piece of paper that Principal Figgins had gave me.

'Hey it's right beside Kurt's!', Finn smiled, 'And it's across the hall from mine! Kurt is my friend from glee by the way.'

'Glee?', I asked, as we reached my locker, 'As in glee club?'

'Yeah', Finn replied, 'Do you sing?'

'I do actually', I said, shyly.

'You should totally join!', Finn exclaimed, 'We need more members.'

'I'd love to', I smiled, as I started to put my books into my locker.

'Well we have rehearsal later in the choir room', Finn explained, 'You should totally come. Mr Shue will be thrilled!'

'Is that Mr Shuester by any chance?', I asked, looking down at my timetable.

'The very man!', Finn replied, 'Why? Do you have him for something?'

'Spanish', I said, pointing it out to Finn where it was written on the page, 'I think I have it now actually.'

'Well I'll show you where his classroom is', Finn replied, 'Actually I think Tina and Artie have him this period too. They're also in glee club.'

'Cool', I said, as we started walking down the hall once more.

'Well here we are', Finn announced, when he stopped outside a classroom, 'Don't worry, you'll be fine. Mr Shue is an awesome teacher! Maybe I'll see you at lunch. See you Lauren.'

'Bye Finn', I replied, as I watched him walk back down the hall.

Boy, I wasn't an hour in the school and I had already developed a major crush.

I took a breath before I opened the door to the classroom.

The minute I stepped in, everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at me. I felt like a deer caught in headlights!

'Hello', the teacher, who had the curliest hair I had ever seen, said, 'You must be our new student. Lauren is it?'

'Yes', I replied, quietly.

'Well welcome Lauren, I'm Mr Shuester', the teacher introduced himself, and shook my hand, 'Go ahead and take a seat.'

'Thank you Sir', I smiled politely at him, before looking around the room for an empty desk.

Fortunately, I spotted one fairly quickly at the back of the room.

Everyone stared at me as I walked towards my desk. I tried to ignore them, but I did notice that Luke and Jai were in my class. Luke was sitting beside some girl and Jai was beside a heavy looking guy that I recognized from the previous day when they saw me dancing. I quickly put two and two together and figured out that he was their friend James.
