24) My Funny Valentine

The next few weeks were some of the toughest I had since I had moved to America, because Kurt changed schools.

The day after the wedding, Kurt's dad and Finn's mam told Kurt that they weren't going on honeymoon because they were using the money that they had saved for it to enrol him into Dalton Academy so that he could escape the bullying at McKinley.

Kurt, all excited, then rang me to share his news. Although I was happy for him, I was sad too because he was my best friend and we did everything together! What would I do without him?

I managed to carry on though, and unknown to myself, I started spending more and more time with the Brooks, James, and Daniel.

One of the biggest shockers during this time though was that Finn and Rachel broke up. Apparently, Finn had never told Rachel that he had lost his virginity to Santana when she was going out with Jesse, so Rachel dumped him!

Of course I was there to comfort Finn, but it was obvious that he still didn't have any interest in me.

The heartbreak between the two of them seemed to drive both of them on more for Sectionals where we placed in first with 'The Warblers' from Dalton. Which meant we would both be going on to Regionals.

Christmas then passed quickly. I spent a lot of time with Kurt and Blaine, and of course the Brooks.

Before I knew it, it was nearly Valentines Day.

'So Laur', Jai said, as they prepared to film another 'Q & A' video ( I was working the camera again ), 'Who's gonna be your Valentine this year?'

'The usual', I sighed, 'No-one. Why? Do you know anyone that would be interested?'

'Actually', Jai started, but didn't finish as Beau shouted, 'Come you two! Lets get this done!'

Annoyed at Beau for interrupting, I turned to Jai and said, 'Tell me later.'

'I will', Jai winked, before going to join the others.

A half an hour later the video was finished, and we all started to head home.

'Hey Jai', I said, as I walked beside him, 'You were saying someone liked me before, so who is it?'

'Uh', Jai mumbled, avoiding eye contact, 'Uh, I forgot. Sorry Lauren.'

'What? You're kidding me!', I replied, 'Come on Jai, who is it?'

'I can't tell you Lauren', Jai said, 'He'd kill me!'

'Fine don't tell me!', I huffed, before walking away from him.

'I was in the library in school the next day studying for my latest biology test when suddenly I heard a voice say above me, 'Is this seat free?'

Looking up I saw Sam motioning to the chair across the table from mine.

'Yeah', I smiled, 'Go ahead Sam.'

'Thanks Lauren', Sam replied, sitting down, 'So, what are you doing?'

'Studying Vegetative Propagation', I sighed, 'I hate it.'

'Okaay', Sam replied, 'I'm just going to nod and pretend I know what that is.'

That was one of the things I had learned about Sam from the previous few months that had made me realize that I really didn't fancy him, he wasn't the brightest bulb in the box. Basically, he was dumb, really dumb.

'So', I said, 'Where's Quinn? You two always seem to be joined at the hip.'

'Um', Sam mumbled, dropping his eyes to the floor, 'Quinn and I have actually broke up.'
