37) Time Goes On

'Welcome back guys!', Mr Shue greeted me, and the other seniors on our first day back at school.

'WHOO!, Sam cheered, as the rest of us clapped, 'Senior year baby!'

I laughed as I sat between him and Blaine. Before Beau left he asked them to look after me this year, so ever since them they had hardly let me out of their sight!'

'Okay, now I know we're after losing some of our key members', Mr Shue said, 'But I know we can recruit some new ones! So lets get to it guys!'

And that's what we did for the rest of the day, auditioning new members. I was disappointed because Ryder never showed up BUT we did find a guy called Jake. He was a really great singer, but had a really bad attitude problem.

We found out why a few days later though, he was Puck's step-brother! It was only then that he stopped acting like such an ass and joined the glee club.

Beau called me everyday to check up on me, and told me that L.A was awesome and their house was fantastic! Ronnie ( who was their tour manager ) and Jacob ( who was their manager's cousin ) were also living with them so it was a total boy's house.

As the weeks past I was really missing Beau, but then something happened that distracted me. Finn came to visit one day and Mr Shue put him in charge of the school musical, 'Grease'.

Finn had really joined the army, but I later found out that he had shot himself in the leg, so he had to leave on medical grounds. He had then gone to New York where Kurt ( who had gotten a job at Vogue.com ), and Rachel were sharing an apartment. He was left heartbroken though when Rachel told him she had moved on with another guy ( I was REALLY mad about that, seeing as she had told me to look after him, and she was the one to hurt him so badly ).

When he came back it was like the atmosphere in the choir room lifted, and he also cast me as Sandy in the musical! I was thrilled!

Life wasn't all a game of happy families in glee club though, because Kurt and Blaine broke up. Blaine had actually cheated on Kurt ( I didn't talk to him for weeks ), and Kurt had then ended things.

It was great having Finn back though, and there was only one thing he wanted, to find the perfect guy to play Danny in 'Grease'.

'What about Jake?', he asked me, one day as we talked about it in the choir room during lunch.

'Jake has a great voice', I replied, 'But I don't think he would be very reliable. Is there any other guy you can think of?'

'Well I asked Sam, but he has his heart set on Kinicky', Finn said, but then stopped mid-thought, 'Wait! I was watching the football team practice the other day and one guy caught my eye. He was actually dancing on the field!'

'What's his name?', I asked.

'I can't remember', Finn sighed, 'But I can ask Coach Beiste!'

'Great!', I said, standing up, 'Well I'd better get to my next class, but call me if you find him okay?'

I was at home that night, studying, when my phone rang.

'Hello?', I answered it.

'I found him!', Finn said, on the other line, 'I asked Coach Beiste and I tracked him down. I met him after practice and he sang for me. Lauren he's great! The perfect Danny! This show is gonna be great!'

Well what's his name Finn?', I asked, giggling at his excitement.

'Ryder', Finn replied, 'Ryder Lynn. You'll meet him tomorrow at our first rehearsal.'

I couldn't believe it! What were the chances that Ryder would be the guy that Finn had been talking about?

'Well that's great Finn', I said, 'I'll see you tomorrow.'

And that's what happened. The minute Ryder and I met again our friendship from the Summer seemed to suddenly ignite again, and rehearsals went great!

Apart from one person, a new member of the glee club, Kitty Wilde. She was the new bitch in the school and had taken a dislike to me because she had auditioned for the role of Sandy but didn't get it.

Besides that though the next few weeks were really fun, even though Mr Shue had left to fight for glee club rights and left Finn in charge of our club while he was gone. 

Finally opening night arrived.

I had begged and begged Beau to come, and thankfully he had gotten permission to attend our first show.

I was backstage, fixing my costume when all of a sudden I felt two arms wrap around my waist.

'Miss me?', a familiar voice whispered in my ear.

'BEAU!', I exclaimed, turning around and kissing, 'I thought you would be late!'

Never!', Beau smirked, 'I HAD to be on time for my girl's first starring role!'

'I've missed you so much!', I said, kissing him again, 'It seems like years since the last time we've been together.'

'I know, I hate being away from you', Beau replied, 'But now we have tonight.'

'Tonight?', I asked, 'Is that all?'

'Yeah', Beau sighed, 'I have to be back on the first flight to L.A in the morning. Ronnie's orders.'

'That sucks!', I complained, 'But at least I have you all to myself now.'

'Lauren, five minutes!', a guy called me from the other side of the backstage area.

'Oh crap!', I said, 'I'll see you after the show okay babe?'

'Sure, sure', Beau replied, kissing my cheek, 'Good luck!'

When Beau had gone to take his seat I went to the side of the stage, and our first live performance began.

And it went great! Nobody forgot their lines, everyone sang perfectly, and Ryder and I made the perfect on-stage couple. It was awesome! Plus we got a standing ovation at the end.

WE DID IT!', Ryder exclaimed, holding me up and spinning me around and around, once we were off the stage.

'Yeah!', I giggled, hugging him once he let me down again, 'That was amazing!'

'Lauren thank you so much for everything', Ryder said, 'You've helped me so much with the last few weeks.'

'No problem Ryder', I smiled, 'That's what friends are for!'

'Yeah', Ryder replied, staring into my eyes.

'LAUREN YOU WERE FANTASTIC!', a voice boomed from behind Ryder.

'Beau!', I replied, as he came into view, 'Did you enjoy it?'

'It was great babe!', Beau smiled, before pulling me in for a long kiss.

'Whoah', I said, eventually pulling away from him, embarrassed because Ryder was there, 'Lets leave it until we get home huh?'

'Sure', Beau replied, 'You ready to go?'

'Yep!', I said, 'Bye Ryder!'

'Night Lauren', he smiled, as we walked away, 'Bye Beau.'

'See you Ryder', Beau replied, giving him a hard look.

As Beau drove us home, I lay into him as he put his arm around me.

Life was beautiful right then. I had the best friends, had a good chance of getting into NYADA and most importantly, had the best boyfriend in the world.

I never thought that only six months later, my world would be oh so different.
