25) My Good Luck Charm

'That is one of the gushiest things I have ever seen!', James said, as we sat on the sofa in the Brooks living room, while he looked at my Valentines card.

Even though a week had passed, my excitement about the card had not passed, even though I hadn't figured out who it was from.

'You know what that guy is looking for right?', Daniel, who was looking at the card over James's shoulder, asked.

'What?', I asked, confused.

'A blowie', Daniel replied.

'SKIP!', I exclaimed, as he and James burst out laughing, 'That's disgusting!'

'True though!', James said.

'Where are the others anyway?', I asked, 'And why did you all want to talk to me?'

'We've got some news', James replied.

'Yeah! Big news!', Daniel added.

'Ooh I'm curious now', I said, just as the Brooks walked into the room.

'You haven't told her have you?', Luke asked, 'We promised we'd all tell her together!'

'Tell me what?', I asked, 'James and Skip told me nothing!'

'Oh', Luke said.

'Well the thing is Lauren', Beau started.

'WE'RE AFTER GETTING A RECORD DEAL!', Skip exclaimed, as they all beamed with excitement.

I felt my jaw drop in shock, before I recovered and said, 'You're kidding right?'

'Nope!', Luke replied, 'A record label saw our videos and thought we would be perfect pop stars.'

'But you can't sing!', I laughed, 'How the hell can you be pop stars?'

'Ever heard of auto-tune Laur?', Jai asked.

'Oh!', I exclaimed, 'That makes sense! So, when are you gonna start recording?'

'The next few weeks', Beau said, 'We're gonna release our first single in July!'

'It's crazy!', I said, 'But I'm delighted for you guys!'

'And that's not all!', Jai replied, 'We'll be recording L.A and since our last 'Q & A' video when I said that I really fancied Ariana Grande, our fans have been constantly tweeting her about me so she's arranged to meet me in L.A!'

'Jai that's amazing!', I gasped, 'I hope you don't faint!'

'Me too. It's going to be brilliant Lauren!'. Jai gushed, 'She's my perfect woman!'

'Anyway, before Jai starts totally fangirling', Beau interrupted, 'We got you something for luck for tomorrow.'

The glee club was competing at Regionals the day after against 'The Warblers' so I was really nervous.

'What is it?', I asked Beau, thinking it was going to be something totally stupid.

'This!', James said, holding out a small box to me.

Taking it from him, I gasped when I opened it and saw a silver charm bracelet inside.

'Oh my God!', I whispered, 'Guys! There was no need to buy me anything! This is too much!'

'No', Luke replied, 'You're our closest friend Lauren, and you deserve something for putting up with us all the time.'

'Here', Beau said, taking the bracelet and putting it around my wrist, 'It's beautiful.'

'Thank you so much', I replied, feeling my eyes filling with tears, 'I promise I'll wear this on stage tomorrow.'

And that I did,

The next day I, and the rest of the glee club, were petrified. Mainly because we had written an original song to perform, and Rachel wrote her own one too.

Kurt and Blaine had recently officially started dating and for the competition they sang a duet together. It was so cute I nearly started crying!

After they sang their second song, with Blaine on lead vocal, it was our turn, well I should say Rachel's turn because she sang her song first. I had to admit it was amazing, but it was also obviously written about Finn.

I could have easily have written a song about Finn too, but it probably would have been called, ''Why Won't You Love Me?' or something.

Anyway, after Rachel finished the rest of us went on the stage to perform our group song, 'Loser Like Me', and it went down a storm!'

After we finished, we waited backstage anxiously for the result.

'Hey guys', Kurt said, as he and Blaine walked over to us, 'You were amazing!'

'Yeah you're totally going to win', Blaine added, 'Fair play for writing your own songs.'

'Thank you so much!', I replied, 'But we both have equal chances of winning. Your duet was brilliant!'

Just then an announcement came for all the acts to go onto the stage for the results.

'And the winner is', the host began, as we all held hands and held our breathes, 'New Directions!'

There was a pause, and then we all started jumping around and screaming.

We had won! We would be going to Nationals! In New York!

As I smiled brightly at the others, I looked down at my hand and saw my charm bracelet, and I knew that it half the reason that we had won. It was my good luck charm.
