A few weeks later, and I was still down in the dumps about what I had done to Sam. It was such a stupid thing to do!
And even though he was in my history class and I was one of the only people he knew there, he rarely sat beside me.
To try to make me feel better Beau ( Who had thought what had happened was hilarious ) and the guys gave me a job.
They had gotten really famous from their videos and had THOUSANDS of fans from all over the worlds, by this stage. Gina had even started making merchandise for them ( I had one of the first Janoskians t-shirt I'm proud to say ). Being a bit of a fan girl myself, I understood that their fans would want to know EVERYTHING about the boys. So they decided to film a 'Q & A' video, and I had to work the camera.
'You ready guys?', I asked, when I had the camera set up in the local park, 'I need to go home and study.'
'Calm down Lauren', Luke said, flopping down on the bench opposite the camera, 'You have loads of time!'
Yeah but lets get this thing over with', Daniel replied, sitting down at the side of the bench, 'I've got footie to play.'
'Exactly!', I said, motioning for Beau, Jai and James to sit down, 'Skip's got football and I have to study so lets get on with it!'
'Fine', Jai replied, 'Come on.'
So we started filming. Some of the questions that the boys had been asked were standard like, 'Where would you love to visit in the world?' or 'What type of girls do you like?', but some were so explicit that I couldn't even repeat them here.
I loved the boy's videos, but if I had to pick something I didn't like was how much bad language they used. I thought it sounded horrible, but I didn't tell them that of course. It seemed to reflect on their fans though, and they encouraged them to send them dirty tweets.
I know it was stupid, but I didn't like how the boys would flirt with these girls. I didn't know why.
Eventually we had the video recorded and we all went our separate ways.
The next day in glee club, Mr Shue announced that we would be having a 'Duets Competition' . The winning couple would get a few meal at a local restaurant called 'Breadstix'.
'So Kurt', I said, as everyone started talking, 'You wanna do a duet together?'
'Of course!', Kurt replied ,'Any idea on a song?'
'Hmm', I said, thinking, 'What about if we did our version of 'Bring Him Home' ?'
Kurt and myself had recently gotten addicted to 'Les Mis', and although neither of us had ever seen the show live, we watched plenty of Youtube videos of it to imagine what it would be like. ( This was of course before the movie version was made ).
'Lauren you're a genius!', Kurt exclaimed, 'That's perfect! We're so gonna win this thing!'
'Fingers crossed!', I smiled.
So over the next few days Kurt and I rehearsed relentlessly for the competition.
The day of the competition quickly arrived.
There were some surprising duets like Mercedes and Santana ( Who were awesome! ), but everybody seemed to shine.
Tina and Mike even did a duet making fun of the fact that Mike couldn't sing.
Finn and Rachel though, were a real disappointment. Their performance was even offensive! Finn was dressed as a priest and Rachel was a nun, and they sang a LOVE song. It was totally uncalled for!
Kurt and I then sang our song, and we got a great response, but we had no chance of winning because of the last duet.
I didn't know how, but Sam and Quinn had gotten really close. They decided to duet together, and they were fantastic! They sang 'Lucky' , and it was the perfect song for them. It was so cute! Sam even played the guitar!
I guess it was no surprise when they won and got the meal at 'Breadstix'. It was even less of a surprise that that meal turned out to be their first date.
Meanwhile, I was at home playing the X-Box with the Brooks.
After all, some things never changed.
