10) Making The Wrongs Right

The next day when Mr Shue arrived at glee club rehearsal, we were all waiting for him, standing in front of our trophy so he wouldn't see it. He didn't know we had won, so we wanted to surprise him.

'Hey guys', he said, when he arrived in the room.

'Hey Mr Shue', we all said, in disappointed voices.

'Look guys, I just want to say that even though you didn't win', Mr Shue began, 'You should still be proud of yourselves, because I'm proud of every single one of you.'

'Thanks Mr Shue', Finn butted in, 'But we'd like to show you something.'

With that we all moved out from where we were hiding the trophy.

'TAH-DAH!', we cheered.

'Oh my God!', Mr Shue gasped, 'You did it!'

'To thank you we'd like to perform something for you Mr Shue', Artie said.

'So take a seat!', Rachel added.

Once Mr Shue was sitting, we all sang 'My Life Would Suck Without You', because it was true, our lives would suck without Mr Shue and the glee club!

After we sang, the bell rang to signal the end of the school day.

I saw Beau at the end of the hallway when I came out of the choir room and I waved, I was more than surprised when he turned away and didn't acknowledge me. He must have been still pissed off with me about the day before.

'You should talk to him you know', Kurt said, in a sing-song voice, behind me.

'I know', I sighed.

'Come on', Kurt replied, putting his arm around me, 'We should be happy! We're going to Regionals!'

Kurt and I then walked out of the school together, but when we reached the parking lot I stopped.

'They're gone!', I said, 'The Brooks left without me!'

'Beau must be REALLY pissed off with you!', Kurt replied, 'It's okay I'l bring you home.'

'Thanks Kurt', I smiled gratefully at him.

Kurt and I were just driving out of the parking lot when I saw Mr Shue and Ms Pilsbury. They were holding hands and looked really happy.

'That's so nice', I said, motioning for Kurt to look at them.

'Yeah it's good to see Mr Shue happy again', Kurt smiled, but then his grin disappeared.

I looked at what he had spotted and gasped. Finn and Rachel were standing by Finn's car, kissing.

'She didn't waste time did she?', Kurt asked, sarcastically.

'Yeah', I mumbled, disappointed.

'It's okay Lauren', Kurt smiled, 'He'll get sick of her soon.'

'Mmm', I mumbled.

As Kurt drove me home he talked a little too enthusiastically, like he was trying to keep my mind off what we had just seen. It didn't work though, the image of Finn and Rachel had stuck in my head like glue!

'Home sweet home', Kurt announced, when we reached my house.

'Thank you so much Kurt', I smiled, getting out of the car.

'No problem', Kurt replied, 'Best of luck with your talk with Beau.'

'Oh, thanks', I mumbled.

Honestly, I had forgotten about that. I couldn't be a coward though, so after Kurt left , I went to my house and put my school bag inside the front door, and then made my way over to the Brooks house. 

'Hello Lauren', Gina greeted me happily, when she answered the door.

'Hi Gina', I smiled, 'Is Beau home?'

'He's up in his room', Gina replied, when I walked into the hallway, 'Go up to him.'

'Thanks Gina', I said, and then started to climb the stairs.

When I got to Beau's bedroom the door was closed so I gently knocked on it.

'Come in', a familiar voice answered, a few minutes later.

I slowly walked into the room, and saw Beau lying on his bed with his headphones on.

'What are you doing here?', he asked, when he saw me, taking his headphones off.

'Look', I sighed, 'I just wanted to apologize. I should never had said that you don't respect women. It was a horrible thing to say.'

'Yeah it was', Beau replied, before sighing and saying, 'Apology accepted I guess.'

'Can I ask you something?', I asked.

'Yeah I suppose', Beau replied, 'What is it?'

'Why did you get so mad when I said it to you?'. I asked, 'You got really angry!'

'It's a long story', Beau mumbled.

'I have all night', I reassured him, sitting down on his bed beside him.

'It's, it's hard to talk about', Beau mumbled, and then suddenly started to cry.

Startled, I put my arm around him as he lent into me, continuing ton sob.
