and so i did, i went home, in anger and confusion, in a loss of what to do next as i parked my car in front of my house.
i slammed my car door shut as i stormed into my house after i vigorously tried to open the door with my keys.
now i knew what i was feeling, i was way past angry at this point.
i was livid.
when i was in my house i noticed my roomate pete was sitting on the couch watching tv, but his attention quickly turned to me.
"what happened with you?" he wondered.
"my asshat of a boss, that's what happened." i explained in a pretty pissed off tone.
"okay but like what happened?" he wanted more clarification.
"he assigned me for a full 24-hour shift that i can't get myself out of without breaking my contract." i heavily sighed. trying to calm myself down.
"well how long does your contact still last for?"
"another year." i painfully admitted, making pete go wide eyed.
"how'd you end up in deep shit, dude?" pete was concerned.
"he was giving me attitude, so i said stuff about his daughter and then he got triggered enough to give me the full day work hours."
"his daughter? melanie?" he cocked an eyebrow, "what about her?"
"i don't know she left her family when she was like 18 or something-- but that's not the point. the point is, is that i'm gonna be stuck in the hell that is my job and i can't get out of it!" i snapped.
pete went silent, but then sighed and looked at me,
"you need like a hot bath or something dude.""what?!" i squinted my eyes in confusion.
"you're stressed, and really fired up. just take a bath, and relax... okay?" he spoke in a calm manner as he stood up from the couch.
i couldn't believe what i was hearing, he wants me to relax myself at time like this? what is he thinking?
actually now that i think about it, he's right.
"you're right." i breathed, pete gave me a pat on the back,
"there ya go, buddy." he praised before grabbing his jacket off the coat rack.
"where are you off to?" i casually questioned.
"on a dinner date." he smirked.
"are you still seeing my assistant?" i sighed and scrunched my face in disgust.
"yeah, what's so bad about it?" pete was fixing his jacket.
"well it's just that... you don't mix work with pleasure." i explained, awkwardly.
"good thing i don't work for that shitty company of yours." he chuckled, opening the front door to head out.
"fair enough," i cracked a smile, "you two have fun, and don't stay out late."
"alright thanks dad." he winked, before leaving the house and closing the door behind him.
i breathless chuckled a bit before following his advice, and decided to go upstairs to take a bath.
before that i caught something with my eye that was in petes took through his partially opened door.
it was a bunch of crumpled up post-it' but there was one that was perfectly stuck onto the rim of his computer screen with something written in red pen.
my mind was really debating on whether or not to check it out, but my curiosity got the best of me. i quickly opened the door to petes room and took the post-it off the screens exterior.
it had a bunch of numbers and letters that looked to have added up to be some sort code. i didn't know what it was or why he had it, but something told me it was something not to mess with.
i put the post-it back where i found it, and went on about my bath business.
the thought of the note never left my mind. there was something about it that was just so ominous. maybe it was something the note was to.
but what could it have been for?
