i woke up to sarah shaking me from the backseat. i didn't feel that the car was moving, so i assumed we had made it. i couldn't tell how much time had passed, but when i rubbed my eyes i looked at time as it displayed on a small screen in tylers car.

2:47 a.m.

i yawned just looking at the time, as i was stretching my back as best i could in the seat, i heard tylers voice mumble,
"we're here."

when my eyes were fully adjusted, i realized that we were in a parking lot of a high-rise building. i didn't recognize the location at all, but i was already here, and there was for sure no turning back now.

the three of us exited the car and tyler then locked it behind us. they walked me into the buildings rather nicely decorated lobby and then we went into the elevator.

the doors closed behind us without us even picking a floor to go to. i stood there, confused. i looked over at tyler and sarah who were smirking at me,
"what is it?" i asked them, still really puzzled.

"josh, would ya mind taking us to floor 13?" sarah asked in a rather suggestive tone, now i was floored with questions.

but i did what they asked, i turned to to the elevator keys only to find there wasn't a button to floor 13, which was odd considering numbers 1-23 were all there, only floor 13 was missing. i looked at them with my eyes squinted and my head slight turned.

"there is no floor 13." i told them, they started chucking, "you sure?" tyler questioned me, i nodded in response, though they both still found it hilarious.

"what's so funny?" i asked them, tyler shook his head while still laughing but decided to take matters into his own hands. i watched as he pressed the numbers '6', '4', and '3' at once.

the elevator kind of jumped a bit, causing me to nearly fall flat on my butt, but i stood up and watched in amazement as the elevator was taking us to an unlisted floor.

i really don't know why this was so cool to me, but it was a lot cooler than having a hitman wanting you dead, okay?

when the short elevator ride was over, the doors open to reveal a rather large open space. there were cubicles of working stations, and on the opposite end of the room there were other doors along the walls.

we exited the elevator and let the doors of it such behind us. there were only a few lights on that illuminated the place, and it was rather quiet due to no one being present there besides us.

"what is this place?" i asked, getting startled by the fact that my voice echoed.

tyler and sarah exchanged looks before turning back to face me, "this is where we work." tyler told me, taking his black trench coat off and put laid it down on one of the near by cubical chairs.

i looked around the place, noticing the rather large windows that were found around the large space. it almost looked like where i used to work, besides the fact that it's a place dedicated for deep web work.

out of nowhere, i noticed a familiar looking blonde walking over to us from the other end of the room, her footsteps making her presence known to the three of us.

"hey, you guys made it!" she cheered, and made her way over to tyler and sarah, hugging them both individually. she then turned to look at me.

"you owe we 5 bucks for the red bull," she joked, which she immediately followed with a smile. the blonde then went in to hug me, and despite how confused i was, i hugged back.

"how're you doing, josh?" she asked in a soft spoken voice while still hugging me.
"i'm okay, jenna." through what seemed like distant memory, i remembered her name. we stopped hugging and she stood in between the three of us, and off to the side a bit.

"where's dal?" tyler wondered, looking over at jenna for a response.

"pretty sure he's asleep," she answered while looking over to one of the doors that was on the other side of the room, "he wasn't too happy you guys kept him alive." jenna glanced over at me before looking back towards tyler and sarah.

tyler sighed, shaking his head a bit while looking quite regretful about something. and that's when sarah spoke up again, "he'll get over it, ty," she tried assuring him, "he's just worried after last time--"

"don't talk about it." tyler dismissed her immediately, walking off a bit away from us, causing a short period of silence as he clearly looked distraught about something.

he came back over after a minute or so and sighed, "any word from raz back here?" tyler questioned jenna, she shook her head, "what about with you guys?"

tyler and sarah both looked over at me as a response, so jenna did the same, "yeah," i admitted to her, "he's kind of holding two of my friends captive."

jenna looked to have really been concerned with what i was saying, "we should talk about this in the morning, you guys should get some sleep,"" she randomly suggested, "tyler can show you to your room."

i look over at tyler who was already motioning for me to follow him as he was walking away. i caught up to him and he lead me to one of the many doors on the other side of the room and unlocked it.

on the other side of the door was a decently sized room that has a single bed wooden framed bed with a pillow and freshly made sheets. tyler walked in with me as i turned to look at him again.

"oh," he perked up a bit, "i have your stuff you left in the hotel room, it's in the trunk of my car." he explained, i was genuinely surprised that they actually took my stuff, but i nodded and responded with a soft, "thank you."

tyler smiled again, "no problem dude, i'll get it for you in the morning," he told me, "but for now just get some sleep." i silently agreed and watched as he was about to leave the room, but he turned back and said one more thing before closing the door behind him.

"sweet dreams, baby boy."
