running on about 6 hours of sleep and 3 cans of red bull, i was pretty much acing this work day. even my boss wouldn't get mad at me.

i got all the necessary company data for my last minute meeting and it left the corporate goons i work for completely impressed.

after the meeting,i did all the pointless chores for my boss done quicker than he or i even expected, which left me some time at my work cubical to play around on my phone and work computer.

i was looking up some dogs for adoption in my area for fun while listening to some green day through my earbuds.

while bouncing up and down in my seat at to the beat of the song, i noticed my computer was starting to lag. it was pretty odd to say the least, the computers at my job were fast.

suddenly, my screen froze for what was about 30 seconds and then it just shut off. i was now staring at myself through the reflection of the matte black screen.

it turned back on in matter of seconds to a blank browser and a message at the top right corner of the screen that looked to be a link. now this was really weird.

my first thought that it would be ann, but then a bunch of questions popped into my head;

why would ann send me link?

how did she get the IP to my work computer?

what would she be linking me to?

hesitantly, i moved my mouse over and clicked the link. i clicked it a few times and nothing seemed to be happening.

after clicking it after what seemed like the 100th time, something happened. my cursor disappeared. then all the applications on my desk stop starting dragging themselves to my desktops recycling bin.

i moved back in my swivel chair until suddenly, my computer screen flashed red for a few seconds and then shut off again. something was telling me this wasn't ann.

it then turned back on to reveal a deep web page, as it was clear to see from the web browser. but the thing is it seemed to be a screenshot from a computers desktop, it wasn't the actual site.

the title of the site read, "get the job done however you want it to get done. hire a hitman today."

there was an information section about the person you're trying to get killed by the hitman. and this is when i knew something was wrong.

the information read:

name:
joshua william dun

age:
24

occupation:
manager in training at "martinez inc."

last seen:
0021 gerard way (where he resides)

any military experience:
none

brutal or quick death:
brutal

standard hitman(no fee)
or
expert hitman(78 bitcoin fee):
expert

total:
hitman exertion: 10,000 bitcoin
cleanup cost: 450 bitcoin
+ expert fee: 78 bitcoin
::10,528 bitcoins total::

i couldn't comprehend everything that was happening, who was trying to get a hitman on me? they know a lot about me, too.

i looked down to the bottom right corner of the photo to see a message typed in white,

"check your house."

before i even had a chance to breath, i saw my boss walking towards me, looking worried. i quickly exited the link and shut down the computer.

he looked at me and tried cracking a smile, "good news kid... y-you've done great work today. i think you're deserve the r-rest of the day off."

his voice was flooded with fear, something was off. he was trying too hard to fake a smile even after he spoke, sweat was practically pouring from his bald head down his forehead.

"is everything alr--?"
"everything's fine joshua! just PLEASE go home." he stressed, interrupting my question.

i was taken back a bit from his raising his tone, but i still complied for whatever reason,
"o-okay. thanks for the day off mr. martinez."

"you're welcome." he sighed a sigh of relief and he walked away, mumbling something under his breath while doing so. i couldn't make it all out, but i did get a small phrase,

"...when does this shit ever end?"

with that, i practically ran out of the building and to the parking lot and threw myself into my car. i knew something was going on with my boss but i had no time to think about it. i just had to get back home before i get a hitman hired on me.

and that's a sentence i never thought i'd say.
