'Tis the day Natasha Romanoff gets a year older, thrilling as always to wake up in the morning and realize she's a year older now. Waking up with new set of dreams and hopes for the other year coming her way, but the thought of aging broke her a bit inside. Thankfully, the calls and messages from her friends brightens her up, pushing all the negative thoughts away. That and the sight of fallen leaves out her window, with their beautiful shades of brown to golden. She's not one to throw big parties for her birthday, usually just a few good friends over to have some dinner and some quality time until the late night.
Stretching her arms as she got off the bed she put on her slippers and went on to make herself of coffee. Somehow she wished Steve was there for her, making her breakfast at this special day, but Steve refused to stay over last night saying he's gotta deal with Wanda's wedding plans. What can she do about that? It's not like she's his girlfriend or anything, she can't just force him to stay over. She had pouted at him last night, with a slight hint of disappointment in her eyes that Steve caught. His heart felt heavy leaving her alone, she even asked him if she can come along, but he said, you should get some rest, and pulled her closer to his chest. Then, he could feel her smile in his embrace. How she wanted it to last a bit longer.
Ding, dong
Steve! she thought.
She opened the door with a big bright smile on her face, fixing the tousled ends of her hair with her fingers.
"Delivery," a man said when she opened the door and her smile slightly dropped. The man turned around to take a big box behind him before handing it to her.
The box was colored beige with a red lid with a neatly tied matching big red bow on top. She wondered who sent it to her, as she carefully opened the box being as soft as possible making sure it wasn't damaged in any way, the sender must've made this very carefully and thoughtfully she wouldn't want to waste the aesthetically decorated box. She made a gasp when she looked inside and find a large bouquet of fresh pink roses, very large it was as if she was hugging someone when she held it in her arms, she took it out and put it closer to her nose, took a smell and hummed in satisfaction of the pleasant smell.
She put the white wrapped pink flowers aside and took a card inside the box, colored pain white but with a writing she could recognize anywhere. His writing.
My Favorite Redhead, the front part said.
Happy Birthday, Natasha! I hope you're not disappointed about last night :( . I know you'll call me cheesy after all this, but I just wanted you to have a really special birthday. In these few weeks I've known you, I find you a very adorable person that somehow always brightens up my days. I wish that on this special day, you enjoy yourself as much as I enjoy being by your side. Continue to laugh and smile, know that it had made my days not only once or twice, but every time. You're a brilliant person, Natasha and I hope you see yourself the way I see you.

p.s wear something nice, I'll be waiting for you in the basement (next to your shiny car ;) )
She smiled at his sweet gesture of sending flowers complete with a birthday card. She even forgot the fact that she disliked the color pink. Rushing to her bathroom she took a quick bath before sitting down in front of her mirror and curled her hair a little bit that it fell on wavy curls. He said to wear something nice, she wonders what he's up to for telling her that, she decided to wear a beige silk blouse paired with brown leather skirt and a thigh high beige suede boots, she put on a simple silver necklace and sprayed some perfume on her before she applied some make up on her bare face.
