This was a hard chapter to write! It went into a direction I wasn't expecting but I'm glad it did. So read and enjoy and let me know what you think! My heart clenches at this chapter.

**| Sang's POV |**

We walked through the graveyard until we couldn't see anyone who attended the funeral. Doukas turned around and faced us with a small smile that didn't reach his dark green eyes. They were too busy searching, always looking for any threats.

A shiver crawled down my spine. Normal people didn't search for dangers; they lived in fake bubbles that made them believe nothing bad could ever happen to them. Doukas knew the truth though. Threats were always around.

A trained killer like him would know that.

"How are you doing, Asteráki?" he asked, tilting his head to the side. He had a heavy Greek accent, heavier than my own.

I shrugged. I didn't have an answer for him. He seemed to understand because he nodded.

"Why the fuck are you here?" North snarled, stepping closer to me, Silas mirroring his movements.

Doukas's lips twisted up as amusement filled his eyes.

"Same reason you are, tough guy," he said. "Gia na vevaiotheíte óti den kánei kakó érchetai se kápoion tóso polýtimo. (To make sure no harm comes to someone so precious.)"

North's dark eyes flared with anger. " Eínai kamía anisychía sou. (She's no concern of yours.)"

"Égine i anisychía mou, ótan i mitéra tis péthane. (She became my concern when her mother died.)"

North let out a growl, stepping forward with his hands in fists at his side. My eyes widened in knowing fear. If he tried to do anything to Doukas, he was going to lose and only Doukas's whims would be what decided how much damage was inflicted to North.

"North," I said, pleading with him to back off.

North struggled to tear his eyes away from Doukas to focus on me. His eyes were so dark.

"He knows my birth mother," I said, hoping that was enough to get him to back off. Silas reached for his arm and tugged until North stepped back.

"Fuck. English, people, English," Gabriel snapped. He was standing over with Luke and Nathan, his wide blue eyes flickering between Doukas and us.

"My apologies," Doukas said, not looking sorry at all.

"My mother. Can you tell me about her?" I asked.

Doukas's expression soften. "I'm sorry, Asteráki. It will have to be at another time. I need to leave soon."

"When is a good time for you?" Mr. Blackbourne asked. He was standing with Sean, watchful. His steel grey eyes were hard and steady as he stared at Doukas. "You seem to disappear whenever we want to talk to you."

Doukas turned to him. "Because I don't want you to find me. I'll be in contact when I need to be and I'm sure you'll learn more than you're ready to accept soon. I sent my final report back to the Doukas Family."

"What does that mean?" Kota asked.

Doukas eyes scanned all nine of my boys before focusing on me. "Which one is yours?" he asked.

I frowned, confused by his question. He was changing the topic.

"I've been trying to figure it out for a while now but everyone acts as if you're theirs so I can't tell. Which boy is your lover?"
