**| Sang's POV |**

On Monday, we went to school and rushed inside because of the drizzle that began. Later that day, the rain was expected to become a downpour. One thing I noticed as soon as we stepped through the double doors was the the tension. The atmosphere was thick with it, emotions high, coating everything with a heavy depression. Students whispered to each other, everyone looking anxious as their eyes kept glancing around.

I frowned and stepped closer to Nathan, who threw his arm around my shoulders, tucking me into him. He glanced around too, taking in the mood that seemed to sweep through the school and plague everyone.

"Walking to the trailers is going to suck," Gabriel grumbled as we found an open spot in the hallway, off to the side. We couldn't go into the courtyard because of the weather and everyone seemed to pack themselves into any available spot in the school. This meant we were squished together. Nathan stood at my back with the others surrounding me to create a small area of space so I didn't have to worry about beings squished by other students.

"What do you think is going on?" I asked Kota as he frowned at a girl who looked like she just finished crying.

"I don't know. I'll go over to Mr. B's office. Victor, come with me. Everyone else, it's probably best if we just go to our classes instead of trying to stand in the hallways with everyone coming in.

"If we can even move," North grunted.

Silas shifted at my side and I looked over at him. He grinned.

"They'll move," he said with confidence. "Sang, stay right behind me. Luke behind her. North at our backs. Everyone else, good luck." Then Silas grabbed my hand, turned around and before I knew it, people were looking at him, paling, and then stepping to the side to give him space.

He charged forward, his grip strong on my hand. I could feel North at my back. Silas continued to plow through, people quick to jump out of his way. I stared at the back of his head, curious to what kind of expression he had that had people moving. I would think North would be the one at the front if he was intimidating people, but Silas seemed to not have any issues.

Finally, we made it to homeroom. Silas leaned forward, kissed my forehead, and then made his way down the hall. North chuckled as he placed his hand at my lower back and motioned me to go inside.

The classroom had some students but not everyone. The extra space was refreshing and I took in a deep breath, enjoying not feeling warm bodies pressed up against me.

"When do you think the rain will go away?" Luke asked as he threw himself down into his chair.

"After lunch," North grunted. "Hopefully, they'll cancel practice tonight."

The door opened and a girl came in, her face blotchy from crying. He light brown hair looked like it hadn't been brushed out, a little knotted and frizzy. Another girl supported her as they made their way into the now quiet room.

"They don't know when he will wake up," she whispered.

"I know," her friend said as they settled in chairs at the side of the room.

More students came in to get away from the crowded hallways, and long before the first bell rang, all the students were in here, talking to each other.

Finally, our teacher came in just as the last bell rang. He raised his eyebrow but didn't say anything, going to his desk and unpacking. I could see the tension in his body and the grave look on his face had me on the edge of my seat.

Something was wrong and somehow we didn't know what it was despite some of the other students knowing. I turned to look at North who frowned at the teacher. Luke caught my eye and gave me a shrug.
