**| Sang's POV |**
The ride home was busy. We were in the limo again but this time, Axel was driving with Corey in the seat next to him. The back was filled with Kota, Owen, Victor, Sean, Nathan.
They wedged me between Victor and Nathan. Over the speaker were the rest of the two teams who were following in another vehicle. Once we were ready to leave the party, they all quickly wrapped up what they were doing and left too.
I was relieved they weren't staying at the party. While Halina was wonderful and Doukas acted as a buffer, that party was still a little too much.
"Why are you shaking?" Nathan asked and the conversation quieted down.
"Oy, what do you mean she's shaking? Is she okay?" Gabriel asked over the speaker. I could hear some chuckling but everyone in the limo looked concerned for me.
"I'm fine," I replied, feeling shy with all the attention on me. "So what did everyone learn?" I asked hoping to get the attention off of me.
"They like to drink really expensive wine," Luke replied and I smiled at his response as a couple of people in the limo rolled their eyes or shook their heads at his silliness. I liked his silliness. I needed it.
"I still hate being a bodyguard," Raven replied too. "I'd rather just shoot instead of waiting for someone to shoot at me."
That made me giggle because he had the same opinion when I first met him. He had always hated being a bodyguard and yet for some reason he still did it.
"What does everyone have to report?" Owen asked.
"Someone in the school is definitely selling the JH-14 for them. They wouldn't give us a name but they were talking about the profits from it," Marc said. "They're doing well."
"We'll keep looking into Miss Drivas and her friend," Owen said. "Even if she isn't involved, she probably knows who. We just need names and then we can shut them down."
"Speaking of Helen, she was at the party," Kota spoke up. "Every time she spotted Sang, she would move to stay away from her."
I flinched at the knowledge. It shouldn't have hurt because I needed to accept we weren't anything to each other anymore but if that were true, why was she working so hard to avoid me? Did she think I would embarrass her? Maria was the same way, always telling me to stay away from her because I was an embarrassment.
"Some fucking friend you use to have there, Trouble," Gabriel said over the speaker and mumbled something. There was a loud noise. "What the fuck, North? That hurt."
"As it fucking should," North replied.
There was more grumbling but I ignored it, focusing on the scene passing by the tinted windows. My eyes burned at what Gabriel said because he was right. What kind of friend was Helen when we were younger? Why the opposite now?
She used to be my world. She steadied me as the world spun out of control on me. But now, we were strangers and she wanted to leave it that way.
It did hurt.
But I couldn't allow it to continue to hurt me. I needed to move past her. No matter how hard it was.
I turned to face everyone, hating the looks in their expressions. They pitied me.
"What's next?" I asked, my fingers curling in my lap, bunching up the fabric of the dress. Victor reached over and grabbed my hand, slowly uncurling my fingers. His touch sent tingles through me but I needed to focus on what was going on. "Now that I went to the party and I was introduced to them, what happens next?"
