**| Sang's POV |**

Nathan collected me after English class ended and we headed back into the building for geometry class. North already sat at his desk when we got there. People were still somber and Ms. Smith went easy on us, giving us sheets for review instead of teaching us new materials. I was grateful because I couldn't focus on anything.

When class ended, North brought me to study hall.

"Remember, wait for me after class is over," he said as he handed my bag to me. I nodded, hiking it up onto my shoulder.

"Do you have your phone on you?" he asked and I patted my chest.

"Yes," I said.

He smirked. "I'll need to talk to Gabriel about options for you since half you clothes don't even have pockets and I want it on your person in case of an emergency." He reached over and rested his hand on my head, patting it.

I glared up at him. "I'm not a little girl," I said, pushing his hand away.

North chuckled as I huffed and went to go into the library.

He waited until I went through the door before walking away. I signed in and then went to find a spot to sit. I paused seeing a familiar head of short brown hair. He sat at a table with no one else so I walked over, smiling.

"Hi Wil," I said a little nervously.

He blinked up in surprise, fixing his glasses. They still sat crookedly on his nose, framing friendly green eyes. He sent me a warm smile.

"Sang, I haven't seen you here in a couple of weeks."

I nodded and settled down from across him. "I had switched out into another class but," I looked around and lowered my voice. "With the events over the weekend, my teacher needed me to come back here while he helped resolve the issue."

He nodded in understanding. "It's still nice to see you. Do you have a lot of homework?"

I shook my head. "All the teachers seem to be going easy on us today."

"Same here. I brought my laptop with me today." His cheeks turned a little red as he blushed. "If you're still interested, I can show you some things. I'm trying to build my own app for fun so it's all coding."

My excitement showed as I jumped up from my seat and moved closer to him without saying anything. He chuckled as he dug through his bag and pulled out a sleek black laptop.

I settled down next to him and the rest of the period was spent watching him work on the app. Most of the coding was already done but he was working out some kinks. He would go into the coding and change something, explaining what he did, and then switch to the app and show me the changes he made.

He genuinely enjoyed what he was doing, even parts of it frustrated him. But he tackled the issues with determination and I got to see that in action as he resolved an issue he said he'd been trying to work out for days.

When the bell rang, I jumped in my seat, wondering how it all went by so quickly. Wil smiled as he packed up his laptop and then got up.

"I'll see you tomorrow?" he asked.

I nodded. "Thank you for teaching me."

He blushed and returned the nod before leaving with the rest of the students. I grabbed my bag, taking my time to give North time to get here to bring me to World History.

"Ready?" North asked when I stepped out of the library. He leaned up against the wall, his arms folded over his massive chest, eyeing everyone with suspicion. People gave him a wide berth.
