**| North's POV |**
Victor showed up long enough to drop Sang off before he was out the door again. I rolled my eyes and got back to work. I knew they were putting my birthday party together. The same birthday party I didn't want.
But try telling Gabriel that and he looks like a kicked puppy. I may look like I enjoyed kicking puppies but I definitely didn't. So I caved and now they were over at Nathan's putting something together while using Uncle to keep me distracted.
He really didn't need to break a water pipe to keep me busy.
I smiled at Sang though. Any time with Sang was a win.
She looked around the room, taking in the mess we created and the water damage done.
The next hour flew by as she asked what we were doing, why we were doing it, and what we were doing it with.
Silas shared a grin with me.
She was their distraction to ensure we stayed busy and while she did a good job doing it, it really was unnecessary. I didn't tell her so though. I enjoyed listening to her talk.
Finally, I tightened the last bolt, tested the pipe, ran the water, and called it a day. I turned to Sang, cocking an eyebrow.
"So, are they ready for me yet?" I asked.
"What?" she asked, growing flustered.
Silas chuckled. "Aggele Mou, North knows you were sent here to keep him busy."
She sighed, but then smiled and did weird things to my heart.
"Should have been long enough," she said. She stared at Silas for a moment, her head tilting to the side in that adorable way that told me she was thinking and considering. "Do you know what they have planned?"
Silas shook his head. He knew, but he wasn't telling. I couldn't even get him to tell me. Her shoulders slumped and we quickly put away the tools and walked back to Nathan's house.
I reached over and grabbed her hand, holding on. We really didn't need to do anything for my birthday. I would have been happy with just having a dinner with everyone and spending time with Sang.
"How are you holding up?" I asked her.
She sent me a smile. "Better now that I know it's your birthday. I even got you a present."
I frowned. "You didn't need to buy me anything, Sang Baby."
She just shrugged, looking away. "Too late now. I refuse to return it."
"Better be something cheap, like one of those stupid friendship bracelets or some shit like that."
Silas chuckled. "You want a friendship bracelet?" he asked and I looked over at Sang who was now giving me a contemplative look.
I shook my head. "No. I just meant it better be cheap. Even better if it's just a rock you found on the side of the road. I don't like the idea of you spending money on me."
"But everyone else can?" Sang asked and we stopped to stare at her. She looked hurt.
Shit.
"That's...uh..." I looked to Silas for help and he took pity on me.
"That isn't what he meant," Silas said, wrapping his arm around her shoulder. "He just meant he'd rather be spending money on you. You're making him feel less like a man."
