"And what may that me?" I run my hands up and down my thighs.

"Where were you yesterday around this time?" Anthony asks.

"I was with uh," I look up my mother and she nods. "I was with Mr. Rodriguez."

"And what exactly were you and Mr. Rodriguez doing?" Daniel asks.

"We went to a book signing and after, we decided to go get some dinner."

Anthony nods and looks down at his folder in his hand. He pulls out a paper and hands it to me.

"What's this?"

"It's explaining everything. You and Mr. Rodriguez will be sent to court. It will be decided there what will happen to both of you. Most likely, this will go on your permanent record and it will affect your college applications. As for Mr. Fernandez, well he will loose his job and his teaching license."

"No! We aren't together. He asked me too come with him and it would be like an extra credit project. He knows my love for books. That's why he did it." I crumble up the paper.

"Did he invite other students?" Paulette speaks up.

"No. But..."

"Exactly. I'm sorry but the way you are putting it and Mr. Malik's statement, there's nothing to be argued here." She interrupts me.

"Mom, you can't let them do this. They will never accept me into NYCDA with this on my record!" I begin to cry

"I'm very sorry Mrs. Martinez." They all stand up and head for the door.

"Please I didn't do anything. Neither of us did!" And they're gone.

Diana walks into the room and my mom looks at me. There is silence excepts for my crying that is starting to turn into sobs.

"Honey, I'm so..." she walks to hug me.

"No! Don't touch me!" I push her away and run upstairs.

Everything is gone. Niall, my dad, my future. I have nothing left. I have been in this school for a week now and I have already lost so much. And now, my teacher is loosing his job. Because of me.

I lay there without making a sound. I can hear my mother and Diana talking down stairs.

"What are we going to do?" Diana asks.

"We always do when there's a problem. Move."

"Mom, we just got here. We haven't even been in school for two weeks."

"I can't afford a scandal right now. We are moving and that is final. You have your sister to thank for that." she spits.

"Why do you always care about yourself only? We are you daughters and we are part of your life too. You realize that what ever you do affects both of us."

"Diana, honey. I know that. And it's the same for you guys. Anything you do, I have to pay the price for it. So get ready to move. California seems like a nice place doesn't it?" My mother slams her door.

I lay in bed trying to calm myself down. Blame me? I did nothing but try to get extra credit. I'm not moving again. My future is here in New York.

"Becka?" Diana's voice fills the room.

I look up and see her standing at my door. She is wearing a green dress and her hair is up.

"Yeah?" I sit up.

"We are going to Church now. Are you coming?"

"Um, no. Not today." I wipe my eyes.

She nods and closes the door. I get up and pick my hair into a bun. I head downstairs and my mother is in the kitchen drinking coffee.
