The next four weeks go by in a blur. I talk my mom out of moving to California. I am removed from Mr. Rodriguez's class and put into Mrs. Fernandez the next week. This means I will now be having dance every day. I'm glad that I will get a break from this scandal and have more time to focus on my future. Luckily, Mr. Rodriguez kept his job and but this did go on my record.
I haven't spoken to Zayn or Niall this whole month. I occasionally see them in the hall way but never make eye contact with them. All of them have been sitting with Ana now and don't even mind looking back at us. Liam and Harry occasionally smile at me but that's the most I get.
"Listen up class!" Mrs. Fernandez yells as we walk through the door.
We all stand in a line and as she scans a paper in her hand.
"I have been sent this letter today from the Academy of Art University at San Francisco. In here, they explain to me that they would like to recommend four of my best students for next semester. They want me to recommend you as a dancer but you can audition with anything falling under the category of Fine Arts. I have already chosen two from my advanced group so I need two more."
She returns to her desk at the corner of the room and grabs what seems to be an envelope.
"I hold in my hand the official invitations to audition for this school. Auditions will be here in New York in two weeks. Honestly, with my recommendation, you're automatically in." She jokes.
She stands in front of the class and walks over to a girl at the end of the line. The girl hugs Mrs. Fernandez and the class begins to clap. She walks back to the front and looks at everyone. She heads over to me and hands me the envelope. The biggest smile grows on my face and Mrs. Fernandez smiles at me.
"Alright. Enough of that. Let's begin!" She claps her hands and the music starts.
The class goes by quickly and I gather my things.
"Schwimmer. Can I have a word with you?" Mrs. Fernandez asks as I walk out of the room.
I walk back to her desk and she is putting her things into her bag. She throws her coat on before looking up at me.
"Where you surprised?" She throws her keys in her pocket.
"I actually was. Why me?"
"I saw something in you. That first day, and I thought to myself 'This one is special, this one might take it.' That's why I'm so relentless." She says to me.
I smile at her and give the envelope back to her. She grabs it and looks at me confused.
"I don't want to go to Academy of Arts. I want NYCDA. I have for the past four years."
"I went there and trust me, don't do it. It's so... basic. You pay a fortune for it and don't learn half of what you will learn at Academy of Arts University."
I look at the envelope and she hands it back to me. She walks over to the door and I follow her.
"Take the chance." She smiles and walks down the hall.
I basically have second period free since Mr. Rodriguez's class isn't mandatory and there are no more classes open. I walk to the restroom and fix my hair and whatnot. When I walk out, someone pulls me into the guys restroom.
"What the hell!" I yell.
Zayn pulls me in further and pushes me into a stall. He locks it and walks over to me. I open my mouth to scream but his hand covers my mouth quickly. He is only a few inches away from me and his finger is on his mouth signaling me to be quiet.
