Niall's POV

Her bright smile greeted me. Her hair was tied up and she was wearing a white dress that made her belly more noticeable. Her smile faded and her eyes grew wide. I waited for her to speak first, but it never came. I see a figure move in the corner of my eye and they move behind her.

"Harry." I say with a low tone.

Rebecca's mouth opens slightly, but no words come out. Harry takes a seat on the couch once again. I search for an answer in her eyes, but she has refused to look at me since she opened the door.

"Well I think that tommor-" Another female's voice breaks the silence that has been around far too long. She walks into the room with a bright smile only to join Rebecca and Harry's state of shock.

"May I come in?" I push back the anger that is beginning to build up in my throat. Why are they here?

She doesn't say anything, instead she moves out of the way and nods. I return the nod and step inside the apartment. The girl moves next to Harry and whispers something into his ear. He closes his eyes and clenches his hands. She leans in and whispers once again. He nods slowly without opening his eyes.

"We're gonna get going. The dinner and movie were lovely. I'll see you on monday Beckie." The girl speaks. Rebecca's eyes widen in plea for them to stay.

"Thank you for coming. We need to do it more often." She speaks softly; a voice I have missed for too long.

"Of course!" She grabs Harry's hand and pulls him towards the door. I'm glad they're together and he's not here after my Rebecca. But I still don't understand why he's in San Francisco. There's still something missing.

The door slams shut and the room falls silent once again. Rebecca has not looked at me directly since she opened that door. She is still facing the door, her head slightly hanging.

"Rebecca." I begin but am cut off as a sob escapes her mouth. I quickly throw my arms around her.

"No!" She screams through her cries and pulls away from me. "Don't touch me!"

"Please listen to me." I move towards her again.

She stays quiet as she wipes away the tears under her eyes.

"Why is Harry doing here?" I slip the question in.

"They came to visit me. It's my hou-"

"No, why is he here in San Francisco?" I interrupt her.

"His sister is attending the same college as me. He's here to help her get settled."

Of course she's his sister. She looked way to much like him to be his girlfriend.

"I went to back to your house in New York a few months ago." She takes a deep breath as she moves away from me. "And to all of your friend's houses, but you weren't there. I should have known you would've just been here though."

"I knew you would try to look for me and I would try to look for you. I needed to get away from you." I take a seat on the couch. "Didn't really last."

"Yeah, I would have just come here if you would have picked up your phone or answered my text messages." She raises her voice in anger. "Instead I had to get on a plane to New York, where I thought you'd be, and drive around town, looking for you, like an idiot."

"Sorry, I just need time" I respond.

"Time to think? I'm the one who had to think. I'm the one who was hurt and had to make a decision. I forgave you."
