"What?" I snap as I answer my phone. Zayn had been calling me all morning long and I was finally annoyed enough to answer.
"Why won't you pick up your god damn phone?" He says in a cool tone.
"If I don't pick it up the first time, don't you think it's a sign that I don't want to talk?" I groan through the phone.
"Look man," he begins, "I just wanted to let you know that I'll be in town soon. I want to go visit you and Beckie."
"Fuck no. I already have Harry here and I don't need another problem." I quickly shake my head even though I know he can't see me. "And it's Rebecca."
"I haven't seen Beckie in a long time. And you don't have to worry about me trying to steal her. I have my own soon-to-be wife now." You can practically hear the excitement in his voice.
"Your engaged? Since when?" I chuckle.
"I met her after your wedding and we began dating a few weeks later. I proposed to her last week."
"Are you bringing her along?"
"She wants to see Beckie as well." He simply replies.
I sigh as I push through the glass door of the building. Luckily, my boss was kind enough to let me keep my job. The streets where busy and the sun was shinning bright causing the temperatures to rise dramatically. July was truly not the best time to be in Sam Francisco. Is it really July? It feels as if just yesterday, Rebecca was giving me a ride home. Those memories were just that; memories. It was in the past, a past I wish I could go back and re-write.
"She hasn't stopped bugging since we started dating. I think it's time we both see her. I miss her as well." He points out.
"Yeah, okay, whatever." I shrug and roll my eyes. If there's anything Zayn and Rebecca have in common is that they are so stubborn. They will never take a 'no' as an answer. They will never give up on what they want.
"Great! I guess I'll see you soon." Zayn says and I hear a girl scream with excitement in the background. I roll my eyes once again and walk into my small office.
I enjoy this job more than I ever imagined I would. All I have to do is sit here answering calls for my boss. I guess you can call me his assistant but, no, I'm not. His real assistant is in the same room as him. She, on the other hand, gets to go on business trips with him. I sit here, and well, do nothing really.
"Hello?" Rebecca's voice is small though the line.
"Rebecca." I simply say. I'm still upset at her use of words from last night. I'm not trying to be over protective, I'm taking care of her. I know Harry better than anyone. He has no good intensions with her.
When she doesn't reply, I speak. "How are you?"
"I'm...good. At my lunch break." There are distant voices in the background. A specific voice I have heard before; a males. It's not Harry's. It's somewhat deeper.
"Is this a bad time?" I click open a new tab on the computer.
"No! Not at all." She quickly says.
"Zayn called today." I bite my bottom lip as the words leave my mouth.
"Oh." I know she is doing the same exact thing at the other end.
"He's going to be here some time this week."
"What?" She is taken by surprise.
"Yeah, him and his fiancé. They want to see you."
"Me?" She nearly laughs. "Did he say who his girlfriend is?"
