~~~~~Jade’s POV:~~~~~
Louis and Harry are talking about something completely unknown to the rest of us, making us laugh.
“No! I think it soun-“
At this moment, Arianna had run in and jumped onto my sofa. She hugged me and wept into my shoulder. I looked questioningly at Perrie who had come in behind her.
But Arianna started saying something before Perrie could say anything.
“I’m s-so s-sorry Jade!” she said.
“For what, hun?” I ask. Even though she is only 3 months younger than me, I sometimes feel that there is more of an age gap.
“Y-you r-refused P-perrie’s-“she was crying too hard to talk properly. She looked at Perrie for help.
“Arianna wanted to say that you refused mine and Zayn’s offer to adopt you because of her and then she accepted our offer.”
Arianna pulls herself together and decides to continue the story.
“I-If I h-hadn’t b-been for my s-selfishness, all this w-would never have h-happened to you!”
“Don’t think like that, hun!” I reassure her, patting her back as she continued to cry. “Everything’s alright now, isn’t it?”
I knew I was lying, but when I looked around the room, the only person who looked like he knew I was lying was Niall. He looked at me with a confused look on his face. I shook my head slightly at him, indicating I didn’t want him to say anything. That just made him look even more confused, but I left it at that.
About an hour later, the boys left. Perrie took the chance.
“Jade?”
“Mmm?”
“You haven’t told us anything about what happened.”
My face immediately closed up. Perrie saw the change in my expression and sighed. We have to get you back to your adoption parents.
“No!” I cried out suddenly. “Don’t send me back to them!”
She knew that she’d hit a nerve.
“Why don’t you want to go back to them?”
“I just don’t.”
Perrie gave up.
“Would you like to see your room?” she asked, changing the subject.
“Sure!” I said, jumping off the sofa.
She led me upstairs and as we passed a room, I saw Arianna was in there. That must be her room. Perrie opened a door and I walked into a room completely different to Arianna’s, in a good way.
 I was speechless. Five signatures were on one of the cream-coloured walls, the one at the head of my bed. I looked closely and saw that they were all the boy’s signatures. Next to the signatures was a huge collage of One Direction posters.
“Arianna did that yesterday.” Perrie explained.
I smiled as I looked at another huge collage on another wall, this time of Little Mix. But there was only Perrie’s signature written on the wall next to it.
I looked at her questioningly.
“The girls are coming round tomorrow. They’ll sign your wall then!”
I gasped. “You mean that I will meet The Jade Thirlwall tomorrow?”
Perrie nodded, smiling.
I let out a squeak and ran-well tried to run with my walking stick- to Arianna’s bedroom. She was still sitting on her bed and looked up when I came in.
“Arianna! Guess what?”
“What?”
“I’m meeting Jade Thirlwall tomorrow!”
“Seriously?” she asked.
“Seriously!” I repeated.
She screamed in happiness for me. Arianna knew how much this meant to me. No one else knew, but Jade had unconsciously helped me through hard times. Whenever I felt down, she inspired me to get through it all. Without her, I might not even be here right now.
These thoughts sobered me, but I still was so excited for tomorrow.
“Oh, and Arianna? You have to come and see my room!”
I took her arm and led her towards my bedroom door. Perrie had already disappeared downstairs.
“Omg!” was her reaction to my room.
“I know right!” I said proudly.
“I want it!” she shouted and jumped onto my big double bed.
“No! It’s mine!” I shout back. “Don’t be greedy, Arianna! You’ve already got your own room!” She laughs, but stays on my bed and pokes her tongue out at me.
“If I didn’t have my walking stick, I would attack you right now! But I do, so I’m going downstairs to find food instead.”
Arianna jumped off my bed and followed me. We went to the kitchen, got snacks and turned the TV on in the lounge. We watched CSI just ‘cause we both love it. The killer whacks this other guy on the head with a plank of wood and I just blurt out: “That was what I was like!” I clap my hand over my mouth and wish I had never said that.
Arianna turns to me curiously.
“What did happen Jade?”
I shake my head, my hand still covering my mouth.
She sighs. “You’re gonna have to tell us sometime!”
“Nope!” I said. “I don’t have to if I don’t want to! You’re not supposed to think about the past, Arianna. You’re supposed to think about the present.”
She looked at me sceptically but let the matter fall. We continued watching TV like that conversation had never occurred, but I knew that she was going to persist, no matter what I said.
