Chapter 12

The next few days were really awkward with Mike,Amy was the only reason that we sat together at lunch. And that mystery boy,well,we can say that we got really close & talking became like our daily routine.

The new hot guy is our friend right now,he's very nice & friendly. I was on my way to Amy's house,her parents invited me to have dinner with them.

I knocked on the door & Amy opened up for me "hey" I smiled & hugged her "hello,welcome" she smiled back "well,hello there Jamie" her dad opened his arms for me & I gladly accepted them. He was like my second father,he was there for me when my real dad wasn't.

"Hi,it's been a long time since I've seen you" I grinned "yeah,you know work & stuff" he replied,patting me on the head "you've gotten bigger though.. & prettier" he said "right Mike?" he asked him,as he just walken into the room.

A little blush crept up to his cheeks & shrugged "she's pretty since I could remember" Mike mumbled to himself,but his voice wasn't too low. I blushed,but tried to hide it looking at the ground.

"Hello Mike" I smiled "hi" he said,with a blank expression & went to the kitchen "what's wrong with that kid? His attitude has been really weird" his father questioned "I have no idea" I said slowly "me either" Amy caught on.

"I'll go say hi to your mother" I said,going to the kitchen "hello dear,you're missed" she said,kissing me on the cheeks "thanks,you too" I smiled hugging her "do you need any help?" I know I can't cook,but I was just asking out of politness.

"Are you seriously asking me that?" she laughed a little bit "don't you remember last summer?" she continued. I groaned,throwing my hands in the air,while Mike chuckled. I shot him a glare & he instantly stopped,but kept the *cough* gorgeous smile on *cough* his face.. Ehm.

"This family is gonna torture me with that subject for my entire life!" I groaned & she laughed.

"I'll go sit with Amy,see ya" I said,going out of the kitchen "wait!" I was cut off by Mike,l turned around "I'll come with you" he smiled & came to my side. I grinned at him & went to the living room.

"So,how have you been?" I asked,hoping that everything would go back to normal "not as I wished" he smiled a sad smile & I felt guilty! "Hey,you two" Amy smirked "what are you talking about?" she asked "nothing" I gave her a look & she looked away.

"Dad,come on let's go & help mum?" Amy said,pulling her father's arm & they went out of the room..leaving Mike & I,alone. "Look Mike,I'm really sorry,you deserve someone better than me & I swear that any girl would go crazy for you" I said looking at him directly in the eye.

"Yeah,any girl would go crazy for me,but guess what? I only want a certain one" he said,lowering his voice at the last part "we're best friends since forever & I can't risk our special friendship just to be with you" I said,looking at the ground "our friendship is already ruined Jamison" he sighed

"Do you think that we're still the same? No we are not! We feel awkward whenever we're around each other & we can't have a normal conversation like we used to! So,we're already ruined,just give me a chance save me from the friendzone & let's start something new together,Jamison..please" he looked at the ground,but I could see the tears at the tip of his eyes. And note this; I've never seen Michael cry EVER before.

He left me speechless,I couldn't talk. I was sitting there probably looking like a total fool,my heart was telling me to do a thing,but my head told me another. I obeyed my heart,held his hand & gave him a tight squeeze.

He looked me in the eyes & started leaning in,but we were interrupted by his parents & sister,standing awkwardly at the door "did we interrupt something?" his mother asked,giving us a knowing look. Both of us blushed like crazy & shook our heads,I tried to pull my hand away,but he held onto it for dear life & intertwined our fingers.

I smiled shyly & his face was still red. he was so cute..no,scratch that. He was THE CUTEST. We sat around the table,their father at the end of the table,their mother at the other end,while I sat between Mike & Amy,still holding his hand.

"So.." his father tried to break the awkward silence "are you gonna tell us about any new girlfriend?" their mother asked,looking at Mike,he blushed harder & picking at his food "I-I don't know what you're talking about" he didn't sound convincing whatsoever. His father gave him a look which said -don't-fool-us- "I don't k-know i-if she'd-d like to go out w-with me?" he said,unsure,glancing at me.

I squeezed his hand again "I'm sure that she'd love to" I smiled,looking anywhere but him. "Really?" he asked,with enthusiasm "Of course" I said,this time looking at him & giving him a sweet smile.

"Awwwww" Amy & her mother coo-ed "you're one lucky man" his father said,winking at him & smirked.

We started eating & went back to normal. They were my like my other family,we laughed & joked together & had our serious conversations. About goung out with Mike.. I don't know why I agreed & I don't know if I can really do it.

I guess it was just the spur of the moment,nothing more. I'll go out with him foe one time & see how it'll work,i'll tell him my feelings honestly & I'll tell him about the new guy whom I think I'm kinda crushing on.. Even though we only met on the internet.
